Introduction
This Technical Architecture document describes the hardware and software requirements needed to successfully teach the course module stated above. This means the hardware and application software system described in this document will provide the required infrastructure on which to run the course module in Oracle University.
This is a technical document prepared by a curriculum developer. Its intended audience is technical personnel within Oracle University and Global IT, who should review its contents to ensure it falls within their policies for the purchase of IT equipment and is appropriate for teaching, and integrated, where required with the current technical architecture. The personnel responsible for the design and build of the technical environment should read this document as it describes the systems on which they will deploy and run the new course module.

Architectural Assumptions
The following assumptions have been made that will affect the preparation of the Technical Architecture.
Assumption:
The environment setup described is to be run in the education centers at Oracle Corporation.
Impact:
This ensures that the environment can be tested with known hardware/software, and limitations can be specified based on the identified hardware/software.

Network Structure
The table below describes the networks that are to be used by the new application.
Network Name
Network Protocol
Purpose Controlling System Component
Links to Other Networks
WAN TCP/IP To provide access to the data center throughout Oracle Corporation
Global Networks The Internet via a firewall
Read the table using the following information:
Network Name The name used to identify the network within the organization.
Network Protocol The protocol used for the network.
Purpose The reason why the network has been created.
Controlling System Component
The configuration of the system component which controls the network.
Links to Other Networks
The links provided to other networks form this one.

System Configuration
The table below shows where the system components are located. The configurations of each of these system components are described in the System Component Configuration component of this document.
Location System Component Configuration
Number Network Connection
Education Centers
Education PC’s Ranges from 6 to 30 10/100 Base T
Data Center Application Servers 240 100 Base T
Read the table using the following information:
Location The geographical location of the Configuration.
System Component Configuration
A system component configuration located at the site. This will be one of the system component configurations identified in System Component Configurations below.
Number The number of system components of this configuration at the location.
Network Connection
The network the system components are linked to, taken from the network structure above.

Oracle University Vision Demo
The ADS VISION demo in Oracle University
The VISION demo environment is used to teach the current release of Oracle Applications. Due to the ongoing release of new Oracle products GES may not have the patch level or latest release from ADS available in the OU education centers.
The VISION demo includes only the core Oracle Applications. If other products (including Oracle products) are required for a specific course this should be documented and submitted to GES and the Product Management group. They will evaluate this request and if it is deemed appropriate have the software installed.
Access to this training environment is restricted to web access only. If a course requires additional access or privileges this should be documented and submitted as well.
Data in the Oracle University VISION demo
The GES data center instances do not support "Data" customization. That is, you CAN add data into Vision to further tailor your class however these changes will not be archived for future use. If you believe that certain data needs to be included in the demo please submit a request for the data via ADSWEB, and they will evaluate the need and if appropriate will attempt to get the data added. All appropriate and required seed data should be available for all courses without the need to add additional data.
Patching in Oracle University VISION
Post-release patches and updates are required to keep the demo environments current. However, GES will only apply patches that have been applied and released by ADS. Patchsets or Family packs will not be applied between Vision releases.
