July 3 Sat Arrive to Istanbul AirportYour tour guide will meet you at Istanbul Airport after the customs and baggage claim. Meet and greet, transfer to your hotel in Istanbul. Dinner and overnight. (D)
July 4 Sun IstanbulMorning drive to Istanbul old city. Visit the famous Hagia Sophia then Hagia Irene. Proceed to Istanbul Archaeological Museum afternoon see the Blue Mosque from the outside. Enjoy the Grand Bazaar. Back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight. (B,D)
July 5 Mon Istanbul – Izmir / Smyrna (1:11, Rev 2:8-11)Morning flight to Izmir. Drive to Smyrna Agora. Start to visit Roman Smyrna and discover the remains of a two storied structure with amazing arches. Smyrna was a pround and beautiful Asian city which is today modern Izmir. In 1st century the city was closely aligned with Rome and eager to meet it’s demands for emperor worship. Then visit St. Polycarp Church, the largest catholic church of the city. Drive to hotel. Dinner and overnight in Izmir. (B,D)

July 6 Tue Pergamum (Rev 1:11, 2:12-17) - Thyatira (1:11, Rev 2:18-29)Morning drive to Pergamum. Modern Bergama, ancient capital of it’s own kingdom and the capital of the province of Asia at Roman era. Built on a cone-shaped hill rising 350 mt above the surrounding valley. Visit the Acropolis and explore the remains of the Temple of Trajan and the famous Altar of Zeus and more. Then drive to Thyatira. Modern Akhisar, formed by Seleucos 1st as a military outpost, it was noted for its many trade guilds. Discover the remains of a Roman road and a Byzantine basilica. Back to Izmir for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
July 7 WedSardis (Rev 1:11, 3:1-6) - Philadelphia (Rev 1:11, 3:7-13) – Hierapolis (Col 4:13)Morning drive to Sardis, modern Sart. The capital of the ancient kingdom of Lydia. It was a city of great wealth and fame. The city was located near Pactalos river and protected by a natural citadel on the northern spur of Mount Tmolus. At this site we can visit the largest ancient Synagogue of the Jewish Diaspora, Gymnasium, Temple of Artemis, and the remains of a Byzantine Church. Then drive to Philadelphia, modern Alasehir was a city of commercial importance conveniently located as the gateway to the high central plateau of Roman provenice of Asia. The name means “brotherly love” and commemorates the loyalty and devotion of Attalus 2nd the city’s cofounder, to his brother Eumenes 2nd. Short visit of the remains of a 6th century Byzantine Church. There’s not much left of the ancient city today. Continue to the Unesco World Heritage site, Hierapolis. It’s an ancient town located at the top of the hot spring water cascades. Visit the remains of the Temple of Apollo, the Theater and more... then enjoy the white cascades and hot water sources of Pamukkale. Dinner and overnight at a SPA hotel near Hierapolis. (B,D)

July 8 Thu Colossae (Col 1:2) – Laodicea (Rev 1:11, 3:14-22) – Kuşadası (Scala Nova)Morning drive to unexcavated site of Colossae. This city was situated on the southern bank in the upper Lycus River Valley which is about 110 miles east of Ephesus. Then proceed to Laodicea. Located near the modern city Denizli. The wealthiest city of Phrygia during Roman times. Laodicea was widely known for its textile industry and medical school. Explore recently excavated Roman streets, temples, theaters, fountains and churches from different eras. Afternoon drive to the west. Arrive to Kuşadası dinner and overnight. (B,D)
July 9 Fri Ephesus (Rev 1:11, 2:1-7) (Ephesians) (Acts 18: 19-21, 24-26) (Acts 19:1-20)Morning, short drive to Ephesus which was the most important city in western Asia Minor. Ancient harbor located at the edge of Cayster River. Because it’s location at an intersection of major trade routes, Ephesus was a very rich commercial center. Today it’s one of the most impressive archaeological sites of the world. Discover amazing structures of the city, including the temple of Domitian, Fountain of Trajan, Temple of Hadrian, facade of the Library of Celsus, Great Theater and more. We will also visit the house of Virgin Mary. Finish the day at St. John’s basilica built at 6th century, stands over the believed burial site of John the Apostle. Back to Kuşadası for dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B,D)
July 10 Sat Patmos (Greek Island where John received revelation)Early in the morning sail to Patmos with a ferry. Arrive to the port city Skala. Meet your local Greek guide. Then start to visit the island starting from Church of the Apocalypse the drive to Monastery of the island. Free time for lunch before sailing back to Kuşadası. Farewell dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B,D)
July 11 Sun Izmir AirportMorning drive to Izmir airport. Fly back to Atlanta via Istanbul.
