SECOND CONGRESS FOR THE STUDY OF TUBERCULOSIS. THE Second Congress for the Study of Tuberculosis will hold its meetings in Paris from the 27th July to the 2nd August under the presidency of Professor Villemin. The questions embraced in the programme are :- I. The identity of tuberculosis of the human subject with that of the and other animals. 2. The morbid and bacterial accompaniments of tuberculosis. 3. The hospital accommodation of tuberculous subjects. 4. The prophylaxis of human and animal tuberculosis. 5. The agents, non-injurious to the system, that are capable of destroying Koch's bacilli, considered from the point of view of the prophylaxis and therapeutics of human and animal tuberculosis. SEVENTH INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF HYGIENE AND DEMOGRAPHY. THE International Congress of Hygiene and Demography has previously been held in Brussels, Paris, Turin, Geneva, the Hague, and Vienna. The Seventh Congress will be inaugurated, on Monday, August 10, 1891, by a general meeting in St. James's Hall. H.R.H. the Prince of 'Vales, the President of the Congress, will preside at the opening meeting, and will take the chair, at 3.30 p.m. The Meeting of the Sections will be held on August 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the room of the Royal and other learned Societies at Burlington House, Piccadilly. SECTION III. THE RELATIONS OF THE DISEASES OF ANIMALS TO THOSE OF MAN. This Section will meet in the rooms of the Geological Society, Burlington House, Piccadilly.
