This Thurs., Feb. 28th, 7pm, at our Marathon Church.

WHAT IS A PARISH MISSION? A Parish Mission is a special time in a parish community when the community gathers

together to gain further insight into a faith filled life. It is a time for grace and renewal of the individual and parish

through music and talks filled and stories, examples and meaning. Our Lenten Mission will be held March 4th and 5th at

7PM at our Whitney Point Church. This is a time for teens and adults to gather. Refreshments will be provided by the

Hospitality Group on Tuesday after the presentation.

Stations of the Cross – We would like to resume praying The Station of the Cross during Lent at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. We think in the past 7pm is too late for most people and for those who do work

and could come on their lunch break, maybe 12pm would work. This Sunday and next we will keep this announcement in hoping you can all respond to what time you would prefer: 12pm, 3pm or other by either telling Terri Fedele or Mary Wied or by calling the WP Parish Office at 692-3911. Marathon and Whitney

Point will also have Stations of the Cross for those who do prefer to go in evening.

Please bring in your palms from last year next Sunday, March 3rd, and place in designated basket at the entrance of our parish to be used to make ashes for this year’s Ash Wednesday, March 6th.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church will have a Prayer Service with Distribution of Ashes at 7pm on March 6th.

Have you ever wondered …. about your faith or wanted to go deeper into it? If so, the classes offered in the Formation for Ministry program are for you! Whether you participate for your own knowledge or to prepare for ministry in our parish, you will find this program a tremendous opportunity. The program can include coursework, training, field work, and spiritual formation. The next five week session begins the week of March 4th. If you feel God is calling you to learn and/or serve, please contact the Diocesan Office of Formation for Ministry at 315-470-1491 or [email protected] for more information. This is A Hope Appeal Ministry Offering. Several people in our parish have participated in the classes and program and have found it very helpful and rewarding. Recent participants John Mihalko ([email protected]) and ( Don Barry ([email protected]) would be glad to share their experiences with you. SAVE THE DATE! SAVE THE DATE! SAVE THE DATE! SAVE THE DATE! Join us on Sunday, March 17th, after the 8:30am Mass for a brunch in the social hall of

our Whitney Point Church as we celebrate our patron Saint! Bring a dish to share and enjoy the company of fellow parishioners. There will be door prizes and music! All ages are welcome.

A Family Perspective- In studying the effects of religion upon family relationships, researchers inform us hostility and prayer can’t coexist. You cannot be hostile towards someone whom you are praying. Today’s gospel encourages us:

“Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who treat you badly.”

Presence Episode 1: God Is With Us What’s So Special about the Eucharist? Although the Eucharist appears to be simple bread and wine, it is actually the “source and summit” of the Christian life. Explore the truth and beauty of Christ’s real

presence in the Eucharist with the first episode of FORMED’s most popular series. . Parish Code: CFMRYY.
