General rule of thumb: the slower your ink or paint dries, the more time you should take when stamping to avoid smearing. • We recommend that you experiment with the Stamping Gear and the stamps you intend to use on blank newsprint or scrap paper to determine the position of the stamp on the paddle and the desired spacing of the images. The Stamping Gear Tools

General Guidelines

Getting Started

• The Stamping Gear tools let you easily create stunning pattern effects on paper, fabric, glass, and more.

• Wonderfully creative for on-the-page applications such as cards, scrapbook pages, wrapping paper, etc., as well as off-the-page home decor and fashion items.

• Stamping Gear is engineered to work specifically with Inkadinkado cling stamps. Other brands or types of stamps such as clear stamps may not work properly because of differences in stamp thickness.

• You can use any kind of ink as well as craft, acrylic, and fabric paints. Paints are good for porous surfaces such as fabrics. Some inks dry slower than others.

Just play and have fun!

Alternate imagesTry using two different images

working in every other slot. Use different colors for each for

a grander impression!

• For slower drying inks/paints: Work your way around the wheel by stamping in turn at opposing points on the wheel or cog (north, south, east, west) instead of working in consecutive slots—this gives the ink or paint a little more time to dry before you stamp an overlapping image.

• Stamping partial rotations: You can get great images with partial rotations as shown by the peacock, ballerina, and fish above.

• Stamp off the edge: Let your pattern fall off the edge of the page for a different artistic effect.

StampingEnsure the paddle block tip is

completely in the slot of the cog or wheel before pressing down to stamp.

Closed Basic:Use every slot for a tight design.

Open Basic:Use every other slot (or every 3rd, 4th, etc) for a more open design.

Shadow:Stamp in the first slot, then without reinking, stamp in the second slot to

create a shadow.

Multicolor:Stamp every other slot with one color,

then go back and fill in the missed slots with a second color.

Layered:Create a semi-circle by working

outward from a center point.

Ombre:Ink your stamp with two colors to create a blended effect.

Double Stamps:Use two smaller cling stamps on the

paddle block at the same time to create unique designs.
