THE NEW CAMP SHAMAYIM 2017 The New Camp Shamayim, under the direction of Rivka Levine Montal, will be better than ever with innovative events, more fun, new activities and new field trips! Mrs. Montal has attended Camp Shamayim and has worked as Assistant Director at Summer@ETTA, as well as having been a counselor in several other girls’ day camps for over 9 years. Rivka has grown up right here in Valley Village and has been working on her Masters in Early Childhood General and Special Education in NY. Mrs. Mimi Uvsitzky, another Valley Village alum, is the Camp Shamayim Consultant with 5 years experience at Yavneh as the Director of the Early Childhood Camp and co-Director of Camp Yavneh. PESACH CORNER Mechiras Chometz: Rabbi Rosenberg will be available in the shul office from 9 AM -12 PM on Sunday, April 9th in order to sell your chometz. Please consider making a donation in connection with the sale of your chometz.. SZ is engaged in its annual Maos Chittim drive to provide much needed funds to individuals who are financially challenged by the high cost of food & necessities for Pesach. Anyone wishing to participate may drop a check off to the shul office. Please note “maos chittim” in the memo. Siyum Bechorim, Monday April 10th after the 5:49 AM minyan and after the 6:45 AM minyan. This year, Community Burning of the Chometz on April 10th beginning at 7:30 AM, will take place at Chabad of North Hollywood, 13079 Chandler. Mrs. Dorothy Greenstein will share her experience as a child Holocaust survivor. Mrs. Greenstein has dedicated herself to bearing witness to the victims of the Holocaust through her teaching at schools, universities and the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. All ages are encouraged to attend.
