OUR STORY

Shampoodle is the product of former photographer/advertiser/developer Jakob Wästberg and art director/graphic designer Helene Stevenberg. It started back in 2006 as a hobby project with the goal to produce something that would have an impact on someone elses life, even if small.

From the birth of the project (and our first child) until 2010 we had spread in over 15 coun-tries and over 6 000 kids around the world were running around in our Shampoodle Track-suit (first item ever made). That’s when we realized that our slow cook project had reached the status of being something more than a hobby and that we really enjoyed what we were doing! Today we are maneuvering the poodle from our neighbourhood in Södermalm, Stockholm, Sweden. Stay close, because this Swedish poodle is going to upgrade the world royaly!

THE DESIGN

Age, size or gender is a minor concern for Shampoodle. Our only restriction when it comes

to design is to keep it within the limits of our own tag line - childishly comfortable clothes.We believe that leasure (read: casual) clothes works for any occation, it’s just a question of how you wear it and with what! That is why most of our clothes are made in different jerseys, heavy or light, in contemporary designs or updated classics with the ‘Shampoodle twist’. Often basic but never boring. We try not to be nostalgic in our designs even if we most often base them on sampled experiences and inspiration from arts, science, travels, music or movies.

OUR PARTNERS & THOUGHTS ON ENVIRONMENT

It was not a decision, it was just a given to be a socially aware company, to always have the welfare of our collaboration partners and the environment in mind. This is not always an easy task having most of our production made across the world in India. But today almost all of our cotton jerseys are made out of GOTS certified organic cotton and we work close to our producers to make sure the production is made under good working conditions, because that is the only way to make a long time relationship. The process continues!
