"We are becoming increasingly aware that solutions to our global challenges must purposefully engage youth, at all levels – locally, regionally, nationally and globally. This generation has the passion, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit to shape the future.” Professor Klaus Schwab – Founder of The World Economic Forum and Executive Chairman

Global Shapers Community (www.globalshapers.org) is the initiative of the World Economic Forum. It is a network of city-based Hubs developed and led by young leaders between 20 and 30 years old who want to develop their leadership potential towards serving society. To that end, Hubs undertake local projects to improve their communities.

Shapers are highly motivated individuals who have a great potential for future leadership roles in society. Through the Global Shapers Community, Shapers are provided with opportunities to connect with the worldwide network of Global Shapers, to network with other World Economic Forum communities, and to represent the voice of youth at World Economic Forum events. Shapers are united by a common desire to channel the members’ tremendous energy and enthusiasm into building a more peaceful and inclusive world.

Global Shapers Community – Bishkek Hub was founded in 2014 by the founding curator Mirsuljan Namazaliev. In 2015, Jenny Jenish kyzy (Ensi Tszie) was elected to be the hub's curator, with her initiative of “Shape Bank” (previous “Social Credit Bank”). With the dedicated team of shapers, Bishkek Hub have realized four projects benefiting over 1,000 young people in the region. Bishkek Hub is committed to developing youth leadership and enhancing the collaboration of higher

educational institutes in Bishkek to better advocate for the needs of young generation in the Kyrgyz Republic. https://www.globalshapers.org/hubs/bishkek/news

Thank You Letter from Bishkek Hub ““Global Shapers! I have to congratulate you all that we have finally become in one Nomad Shaper family! In these three days you were exposed to various nomadic cultural experience, as well as to our hospitable people. We named “Shape Eurasia 2015” – GO NOMAD! First, it’s because the Kyrgyz nation share the nomadic culture. The term “being nomad” is not only about moving from a place to another, but more about freeing ourselves from the confines of regularity, daring to come out from the comfort zone, and living in harmony with the environment and surrounding people. Nomad people seek for the maximum usage out from the minimum resources. Organizing “Shape Eurasia 2015” within the shortage of time, with the small group of shapers, and lean budget itself is the best reflection of applying Nomad Philosophy. And we’ve made it! We would love to share our Nomad Philosophy with the worldwide global shapers, that you may also “Go Nomad” with us. Thank you for coming to share all your best practice and help us together explore the potential of promoting tourism and developing ethno-business in the Kyrgyz Republic. All your crystal ideas have inspired us so much that we simply cannot express our gratitude enough in words. After the forum, Bishkek Hub shapers plan to follow up all groups. We sincerely hope we can generate productive results from Shape Eurasia 2015, that can benefit the local community. Moreover, we would like to extend our gratitude that you presented us your cultural competence and how you embrace differences in the Community. We remember each one of you as a shining individual whom we already start missing. Thanks Global Shapers Community – in this Community we realize how close we can stand by and hug each other. Please always feel yourself at home in the Kyrgyz Republic! Bishkek Hub can't wait to see you again. ““

I was quite surprised to find out that the Kyrgyz people has the largest oral epos, and I was fascinated by the phenomenon of Manaschi. It was interesting for me to see small kids riding horses in the Kyrgyz village on our way to Issyk-Kul lake. I also travelled to Osh for one day and enjoyed the large Sulayman Mountain. When I saw it on photos I imagined it to be much smaller than it is. The thing is the mountain is quite long so it takes a couple of hours to go it through and explore its caves and canyons, as well as a museum inside the mountain. I was surprised to find out that the thing depicted on the country's flag is in fact the crown of the yurt. Previously, I thought it to be a hat or a sun's stylized version. In general, the nomad people's cultural concept of yurt and its symbolism in the vision of the world is very interesting and unique. I believe Kyrgyzstan should 1. Develop the concept of nomad yurts convinient for the tourists. 2. Offer various tours across the country for a number of days. Plane connection between Bishkek and Osh for 50 dollars two-way, which I used for my travel to Osh, is an important touristic advancement. 3. Create a larger pool of touristic opportunities on the Issyk-Kul lake. Kyrgyzstan shall also pay more attention to the cleanliness of the streets in towns and in the rural areas, and develop amicable relations between Kyrgyz and Uzbek communities in Osh. We visited quite many places including the Kyrgyzstan rural areas and Issyk-Kul, so the Shape Eurasia 2015 was full of interesting events. I liked the idea of hosting participants by local families. The logistics and overall organization of the event was on very high level. It was obvious to me that the Kyrgyz team worked very cohesively and responsibly".

Senior Analyst at the Office of the President of Mongolia, currently pursuing Master of Studies in International Relations at the University of Cambridge. 'My attendance at the Shape Eurasia 2015 in Bishkek and Issyk Kul marks my fifth visit to this beautiful nation of the hospitable Kyrgyz people. My very first visit to the Kyrgyz Republic was with my family way back in 1995, ever since I have had the many chances of coming to this land of Nomads through personal visits to friends, official state visits, or just purely enjoying the nature of this country. All my visits seem to have been only getting better and better, so I never had to search online for information about the Kyrgyz Republic, I just always booked my tickets and let the experience be a surprise for me. I will never need convincing when it comes to deciding if I should go to the Kyrgyz Republic or not, it is always an excited OF COURSE! Considering my previous visits and that I am also from a nomadic country, it seemed that nothing will surprise me enough to call it a cultural shock on this trip to the Kyrgyz Republic, but the organizers of the Shape Eurasia 2015 @GlobalShapersBishkek Hub have managed just that, seeing the Game (the one with horses and goat polo like game) was a big shock for me, I have never seen and experienced such a game. I would say it is definitely quite a unique game'.

Shaper: Luisa Meneghetti, community manager of The Port association at CERN, Geneva Hub, Switzerland "I have never been to Kyrgyzstan before and this was also my first time in Central Asia! Shape Eurasia has definitely been the best opportunity to discover bothю When I first heard about it, I immediately felt intrigued about the Go Nomad program but also very embarrassed that I needed to double check the exact location of Bishkek on internet! The fact that I knew so little about thecountry spurred me to apply. I was fascinated by the fact that Kyrgyzstan is one of the few countries in the world to keep alive its nomadic culture but I didn't read too much, as I preferred to experience it first-hand. That's exactly what happened during Shape Eurasia. I think living with host families was definitely a winning point of the whole event, because I felt comfortable enough to ask many questions I would not otherwise have asked in a different setting, and to have a full immersion in Kyrgyz culture. Kyrgyzstan has so much to offer! I personally believe that its added value is the untouched and uncontaminated nature, tasty food and uniquely welcoming people. Considering the current trend in responsible eco-tourism and organic food, I believe that Kyrgyzstan can lead the way in the region and become the Switzerland of Central Asia!¨

Shaper: Shahmar Shukurov, web developer & project manager from Sumgait Hub, Azerbaijan "It was first time in Kyrgyzstan. Even though Kyrgyzstan is one of the Turkic nations as well as Azerbaijan, I hadn't known much about the country. For the first time I tried horse meat, it was very different. Horse games impressed me, never have seen them too. I applause all your work to develop tourism with a focus on nomadic culture and Shape Eurasia 2015. You have done great work. We are brother country. And your success is our success. Thank you for everything!"

"This year’s Shape Eurasia (and I’m saying this year's because the curator asked to be distinguished by its term, not because I attended the previous ones) oozed hard work and new ideas. I was blown away, presentation after presentation. The organizing team exuded creativity and professionalism. It was truly inspiring…Which is why, I think, documenting their best practice for posterity makes sense:
