• Modular units used for athlete housing during Vancouver’s 2010 Olympic Games were relocated and converted into 33 new supportive rental apartments for youth at risk of homelessness and adults with mental health barriers.

In partnership with Creative Center Society the Village offers housing for adults with mental health barriers and youth who are homeless or at risk of being homeless.

Adults

• The Village provides permanent housing for adults with mental health barriers.

• Adults reside on the 3rd & 4th floor

• Applications and information can be accessed through Creative Center Society.

Youth

• Transitional housing for youth

• Homeless youth or youth at risk of homelessness

• Youth Ages 16-20

• Housing up to 2 years or until 20th birthday

• Youth units are located on the 2nd floor Funded by BC Housing

• 10 Single Units

• 1-2 Bedroom Unit for a family or single parent with a child

• 24 hour staff support and supervision

• Connected to the Youth Support Program

• Hands On Life Skills Groups

• Camera system to client ensure safety

Application Process

• Youth or Social Worker completes and submits an application form• Youth completes an interview and demonstrates a source of income• If youth meets the criteria they will be given a move in date or placed

on a first come first serve waitlist. I• If they are not ready to live independently they will be provided with

feedback on what needs to be accomplished prior to re-applying • Damage Deposit $215.00 & Rent - $375.00 per month

Next Steps

• Youth meets with Residence Coordinator Dave Herie & Youth Support Worker and reviews and signs a program agreement

• Youth arranges to have a healthy & safety and building orientation
