Share Leadership Update: Judy Franklin
Hi I’m Judy Franklin. Do you like showing people how easy it is to share Jesus’
love? Well come on down and share it with us. We are going to decorate a
flatbed for the Maple Valley Days parade June 13th. We need your HELP and
creative ideas!! There will be 2 meetings, June 4th at 6:30 pm to generate
ideas to decorate and June 11th at 6:30 pm for DECORATING ! Then
PARADE DAY we’ll meet and be part of the parade and pass out our suckers!!
Please email me at [email protected] and lets “share it up” together!
New Donation Request: Lollipops by the Thousands Our Share Team will be leading our Church in two big Outreach Events this Summer in June and July: a
Church Float (and presence) in the parades in Maple Valley Days and Covington Days! The Maple Valley Days
parade will be Saturday, June 13th and the Covington Days parade the 18th of July. We will be asking absolutely
everyone to join us for those events, that together as a Church family we would walk together with our float and
invite our communities to check us out and join us for a Sunday of Worship! And as part of those outreaches (as
is true at every parade!) we will have candy to give out to the crowds. And this is important: this is how we will
advertise ourselves to the people. We are not allowed to give out literature, but we can give candy with stickers
about our Church. Therefore, we are asking for donations of bulk lollipops, that we will then ad stickers with our
Church name, details and website. Between the signage, the float, our people and the candy handouts, we are
hoping to make a great impression on our communities and invite a lot of people to Church! But we need
LOLLIPOPS! If you can, just donate them at the display in the foyer! Thank you!

Praising God: Baptisms & Dedications in May
There are two youth baptisms and two children's dedications happening at Cornerstone this
month! Baptism is one of the two sacraments of the Christian Church, where we are washed in water
and the Spirit, and infused with God's grace to become a member of the family of God! Children's dedication is a precursor to baptism, where the child is consecrated to God with the promise of a future
baptism when that child comes of age.
May 3rd at 9:00 am: Holy Baptism for Jena Stannard
May 10th at 9:00 am: Children's Dedication for Remme Pinkstaff
May 24th at 10:45 am: Children's Dedication for Joseph Murphy
May 31st at 9:00 am: Holy Baptism for Cara Marie Conforti
Praising God that we raised over $16,942 in offering for transportation for Pastor Joseph’s congregation! The monies will be sent soon toward the purchase of a bus or other transportation to safely transport their congregation on Sundays and throughout the week!
Mark your Calendars: “Single-Service Sundays” We will have 2 services throughout the summer except for these 4 Sunday’s we have chosen 10:45 am as
the timeslot for each of these single-Service Sundays.

Praying and Community Support
Prayer Corner—A letter from Jeremy & Joy Ellington
Dear Friends,
We request your prayers in the following areas. Please also share this email with others in your church who may
not be on our email list. Recently we have made 12 of our believers
leaders over a local area. We are calling them sheep shepherds. They are
specifically targeting the areas where we had more children come for
VBS. Here is a list of the leaders names and the location of the place where
they are visiting people and inviting them for Sunday Service as well as
praying for the people s needs. 1) David - Poolavayal Pallam 2)Saneesh -
Kalluvayal 3) Manoj - Kaipencherry 4) Deepak - Kuppadi 5) Baboo - Pazhari
6) Anil - Koli Moola 7) Anita Oddapallam 8) Somiya - Karavellikunnu 9)
Kaliyani - Vengur 10) Dawoo - Poolavayal Colony 11) Smitha - Poolavayal
thode 12) Chiru Muthanga. All of these people are dedicated and truly
desire to see the hand of God. They along with us need your prayers at
this exciting time in the ministry. They will be going out Saturday at 10 a.m. which is Friday night at 9:30 p.m your
west coast time.
Please also pray for the people who want to take baptism. We are praying for them that they would have a deep
commitment as well as a deep experience of Jesus Love. Their names are Kaliyani, Dawoo, Leela, Somiya, Satish,
Manoj, Binu and Somesh.
Over 14 football camp was postponed for a week because we were too tired but it was a blessing as it was raining
cats and dogs this past week. It starts on Monday
Our Spiritual daughter Bindu had a baby girl by ceserian as the umbellical cord was wrapped around the babies neck
twice. It was grace that the Dr was vigilant and caught the problem ahead of time. It was also pretty amazing as we
arrived just as the decisions were being made and the baby was born within minutes.
Our driver of 8 years 2000-2008 Biju got married on Thursday and we got to drive for him and the new couple
were blessed to use our new car for the functions.

Lorena Saxton Testimony
May 18, 2015
A very dear friend said to me “you don’t get the testimony without the test”.
“Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance
and the encouragement of the Scripture we might have hope.” Romans 15:4
There is no way we can ever thank the many people of the church and the many ways that
our lives have been touched. Christine said it best a few weeks ago when she said we have
people with serious things happening and the church has rallied to help in every way. With-
out getting into the medical part of things, Jesus, through the people of this church, has made
so many things possible. Every need has been filled from the first week home, people coming
to be with me so I was not nervous, rides to appointments, walker, wheel chair loan, meals,
wheel chair disabled pass that has made making appointments much easier and lastly a
working furnace. Prayers when my husband was in an accident the first time he left me in
ICU and so much more that cannot be began to be recognized.
The walk the last ten years has been a learning piece with my small group standing by me
through the tears as well as the joy. And in the last chapter the entire church standing with
Mark & I through it all thick and thin.
Cornerstone, you have no idea how truly special you are, each and everyone of you. Words
cannot express it. Cornerstone is made up of what I refer to as many “Earth Angels”. So
many people but one needs a special call out, Carol Nohavec, who has lead my transition
home to be what it is, through these different areas. Without her I would not be making the
progress I am making today. Cornerstone is made up of a very special group of people, this
church is made up of people lead by God along with our Pastor James leading the helm.
This too has been about FAITH, this entire journey of late has been about FAITH and the
remarkable outcome, nothing but positive in each and every way. Philippians 4: 6&7 “Do not
be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present
your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard
your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

UMCOR at Work after Earthquakes in Nepal
(from the United Methodist News service)
United Methodists joined Christians around the world in a prayerful response to the
earthquake that has claimed thousands of lives in Nepal and neighboring China and India.
BBC News reported the death toll at 4,000 people, with at least 7,000 injuries by
Monday evening as the Nepalese army and police undertook massive search and rescue
operations. Many were living in “vast tent cities” in the capital of Kathmandu as aftershocks
from the 7.8-magnitude earthquake continued.
Five missionaries working in Nepal for the United Methodist Board of Global Ministries
were reported safe.
The United Methodist Board of Global Ministries “has been in mission with the people
of Nepal a long time, and that is a great grace in this time of need,” says Thomas Kemper, the
board’s top executive.
In a joint statement, the World Council of Churches and the Christian Conference of Asia called churches around the world to pray for those affected by the earthquake and “extend
every possible support for humanitarian aid assistance in Nepal and other affected areas in the
neighboring countries.” The World Methodist Council also offered its prayers for the people
of Nepal.
The United Methodist Committee on Relief is planning to offer assistance through interna-
tional and local partners, including the United Mission to Nepal, a longtime church partner.
UMCOR approved a $90,000 grant April 27 to GlobalMedic, which will help earthquake
survivors access clean water by providing household and public water-filtration units.
To Donate toward UMCOR’s Relief Efforts in Nepal
Donations to support the response to the earthquake in Nepal and other international
disasters can be made online through UMCOR Advance # 982450. Visit www.umcor.org for
more information. Checks also can be made out to your local United Methodist church. Write
UMCOR Advance #982450 on the memo line and put in the offering plate.
