The “Certified Kind” Classroom Challenge, now in its third year, is back and bigger than ever in celebration of Wonder the movie, releasing November 17th, 2017.
This school year, you can enter for a chance to win extra special prizes, rewards and experiences for your students as they explore how to Choose Kind.

Ask your students to create a visualization of what kindness and inclusion mean to them as a design activity. How you implement that challenge is up to you. The artwork can include images, words, anything.

In Wonder, Auggie’s principal, Mr. Tushman, teaches the students that “we carry with us, as human beings, not just the capacity to be kind, but the very choice of kindness.” This Back to School, let’s forward kindness around the country! We’re teaming up with our friends at GapKids to encourage your students to help us #ChooseKind.
Submit your students’ designs to your “Certified Kind” account at wonderkindclassroom.com by September 15th to be entered into the Design Contest.
Eight winning designs will each be featured on a T-Shirt, to be sold as part of a Gap #ChooseKind Collection in select North America GapKids stores and online at Gap.com. The best part? 100% of proceeds will be donated to two inspiring organizations benefitting craniofacial differences: myFace and CCA Kids.

WHAT DOES KINDNESS LOOK LIKE?GapKids #ChooseKind T-Shirt Design Contest
Design must be onan 11 x 17 whitebackground.
No inclusion of names or proprietary intellectual propertyin the design.
No profanity or inappropriate graphic artwork.
Teachers must keep a physical copy of the original design. Originals of winning designs will be given to GAP.

PRECEPTS TO LIVE BYExploring Precepts as a Discussion StarterIn Wonder, Auggie’s English teacher, Mr. Browne, introduces students to his love of precepts. Simply put, precepts are principles to live by, and Mr. Browne’s selections celebrate kindness, hopefulness, the goodness of human beings, the strength of people’s hearts, and the power of people’s wills.

HOW TO ENTERSubmit a photo of your classroom’s full jar to your “Certified Kind” account at wonderkindclassroom.com by April 1st to be entered into the sweepstakes.

Label an incentive jar of your choice with an official “Certified Kind” label (included in this kit or available to download at wonderkindclassroom.com).
Challenge students to do kind deeds in order to fill the jar with marbles (1 kind deed = 1 marble*). *Or other small object
When the jar is full, take a photograph and upload to your “Certified Kind” account on wonderkindclassroom.com.
You will receive an email confirmation that your classroom is “Certified Kind”, a certificate of achievement, and a congratulations message from Wonder author R.J. Palacio and the Wonder filmmakers.
Your class will be listed on the “Certified Kind” Classroom Registry at choosekind.tumblr.com/map.
We encourage you to post about your classroom’s progress on social media using the hashtag #ChooseKind!Please make sure that any people in your pictures are 18 or older
