• One SharePoint farm I worked on had so many sites that it actually ran out of GUIDs. True story…

• The Farm Configuration Wizard (FCW) does some terrible, horrible, no good, very bad things

• Here is short list of its atrocities

• Felonious GUID abuse (illegal in six states and two territories)

• Creates the content web app based on the server’s name

• Creates the My Site Host on the content web app

• Encourages enabling too many service applications

• I can’t prove it, but I’m pretty sure once it drank right out of the milk carton, emptied it, then put it back into the refrigerator! True story!
