• Content reviewed after each internal evaluation (3 to date)
• Externally evaluated to– assess whether the Handbook was transferable
– identify what changes needed to improve its usefulness beyond Cardiff University
• Made available on web due to demand from IL community
How has the Handbook been evaluated and how have we
responded to feedback?
• Used across the UK• McGill University, Canada• St Vincent's University Hospital, Dublin,
Ireland • University of Stockholm • Stop Press: Spain • Finnish translation launched in Helsinki,
April 2009. Now in 2nd edition.
Where has the Handbook travelled?

HILT has proved to be a wonderfully useful hands-on tool for all interested in developing the quality of their teaching.
It is particularly useful for those of us who lack formal pedagogical training and for those just starting out as IL-
