IN OUR LAST ARTICLE WE TALKEDABOUT co-branding. The purpose was to help reinforcethe importance of the dealer and their choice of vendors.At Skandia we want to be the vendor of choice but we arewell aware that we cannot be all things to all companies.But when a match is made between us and the dealerincredible opportunities abound for all.

In this article we want to spend time talking about thepreparation that is required when a dealer goes out on salescalls. We have expressed in our sales training that younever want to train in front of your customer. All too oftensales presentations are made without enough thought norenough knowledge to effectively present the product tothe customer. Before the great recession Skandia heldregular programs through its Skandia Window Institute ofFashion and Technology (SWIFT). The program taughtin areas as diverse as leadership in the organization, toproducts and their feature and benefits. As the economyworsened, we suspended the programs to wait for theindustry to rebound and turn itself around. Now we wantto help dealers resharpen their skills as we all begin to pickup the pieces and move forward.

This past year we started back with training programs byintroducing the Somfy 101, 201, and 301 classes. A shout-out of special thanks to all the Students that participatedas well as our Skandia Team; both made it possible for a

successful year of training! At the same time Skandiainvested in its own learning management system (LMS)which will be known as SkandiaTrain. This system willdeliver online training. In the early years of thistechnology, Skandia believed in the need of education inthe industry and invested in building a website andtraining portal that would serve the dealer as well as theinstaller. The Somfy 101 course is taken online usingSkandiaTrain (that was formerly known as IndustryTrain).The 201 and 301 courses are hands-on and are offered atSkandia facilities. Some courses can be offered onlinewhere others can only be effective as hands-on training.The next step is to offer mobile courses - view anywhereat anytime on any mobile device. So whether you’re onthe job installing or pitching a sales call, you can have allthe product information at your fingertips.

Entering into 2015, one of Skandia’s goals will to makeavailable more courses online. If we as a company canhelp develop your selling skills, product knowledge, andbusiness savvy, then hopefully we can also earn yourbusiness and develop a great partnership that allows usboth to profit and grow.

As we go into the new year let us rejoice that we have thefreedom to make choices freely and be rewarded for ourendeavors.

Select the link for “Complete our SkandiaDealer Access Request Form” and follow theinstructions to register for access.

After all the instructions have been followedand the required paperwork has beensubmitted, you will receive your approvaland log in information via email. Make sureyou have put info@skandiawf.com in youraddress book so you don’t miss the message.Some email programs treat unknownaddresses as spam.
