Our Story
It was later discovered that only 4 of the 45 families living in the area were aware their was a pipeline nearby.
First Responders in route to the incident were headed towards the same hazardous path that Danielle was on.
Although it was Summer, the road was a school bus route.

Feedback from Educators
“I just want to pass along some feedback that I received at the Webb County Safety Fair on September 25th in Laredo. I had multiple people pick up an 811 sticker from my exhibit, look at it and say “I know about 811, my daughter (son, granddaughter/grandson, niece/nephew, etc.) came home from school the other day telling me that I needed to call 811 before digging!” It really stuck with them. Take pride in the fact that funding was put to good use in an efficient manner and made a difference in the lives of those that work and live in Webb County. Good job!” –Doug Meeks, Damage Prevention Manager, Texas811
Feedback from Partners
“Texas811 has found the Smalley Foundation's PSA Kids campaign one of the best tools available to educate children about the need to call 811 and to be aware of what's buried beneath the ground around them.“ -Mike Losawyer, President Texas811
