WHAT CAN’T GO IN?
All of your food waste can go in your green bin along with your garden organics, lawn clippings and leaves. Your organics will then be reprocessed into compost and mulch at Shellharbour’s own fogo processing faciltiy.

Your red bin is for waste only, things that cannot be reused or diverted into your green or yellow bins. All of the waste in your red bin is sent to landfill and nothing is recovered.

YELLOW BIN?

Your yellow bin is for recycling only. Recyclables collected in the yellow bin are made back into paper, new containers and various other new products. Excess recyclables can be taken to the Dunmore Recycling & Waste Disposal Depot for FREE.
You can arrange to have 2m3 (2m wide x 1m high x 1m deep) or 200kg of unwanted household items collected from your property (fees apply).

If your bin is damaged, has a broken wheel or cracked lid, you can book it in to be repaired for FREE.

TRANSFER’STATION
Shellharbour City Council provides residents with an all-weather Transfer Station to safely dispose of numerous household items for FREE.
At the Resource Recovery Centre you can offer your unwanted saleable second-hand items. You will also find a vast assortment of second-hand items for purchase, with new and different goods arriving regularly.
The Tinkerage, located at the Centre, also holds regular reuse and upcycling workshops.
