Overall Experience

Worked with management to develop knowledge of all departments within the hotel, assist with activities incorporated for guests,

utilize the Sheraton values, missions, and goals to provide the guests with the optimal experience,

and contribute to the team members.

The Five Successful Goals: 1. To get a full understanding of how accounting and the systems

for accounting work throughout the hotel. 2. To gain an understanding of different clientele or guests based

off the reason for travel: leisure, vacation, education, family, etc. 3. To learn the functions of the housekeeping department and being

able to understand the employees, as well as, the manager’s views of this job.

4. To gain more communication skills by interacting with team members, supervisors, managers, and guests.

5. To gain an understanding of how high season at a beach resort is affected by the events, holidays, and weather during the season.

Experience of Eight Departments

Revenue Management Is a way to optimize income revenue

from a fixed, but perishable inventory. The challenge for Marilyn is to “sell the right rooms to the right customer at the right time for the right price.”

Housekeeping Duties of the supervisors and how

they handle the housekeepers. Also, how the managers start and end the day with the housekeepers.

Accounting Was able to see how the checks were

made and finding the right price to put on the check. Also, saw how the accounts worked with their groups.

Sales Creating the BEO’s for events, sit in for

a wedding meeting with sales woman. Go out of the office to sell.

Reservations Used my knowledge to make

reservations and follow on the guest’s requests.

Night Audit All of the accounting and paperwork

was looked over, how the whole computers had to be reset for next day.

PBX Listen in on the guests request and

also report to the housekeeping as well as the maintenance.

Front Office Maintain the Starwood Preferred Guest

to their need. Take care of the guests by checking in and out, as well as, handing anything they ask for.
