PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

FRIEDBERG JCC, Oceanside, NY 2001 – Current This organization serves the educational and social needs of Long Island’s south shore communities with programs and vitally needed services. Its primary mission is to be a vibrant and dynamic community hub providing the finest in programs and facilities. Chief Operating Officer Oversaw and administered day to day business operations, including providing long-range leadership, developing fund-raising and managing department and agency budgets ranging in size from $100,000 to over $12 million annually. Created and developed all JCC social service programs, and had direct oversight of all Social Work Directors. Served as key professional in annual National Benchmarking evaluation and in implementing all recommendations for the JCC. Direct reports include six full-time and part-time department heads, program directors and their staffs.

Successfully raised over $500,000 annually for the Sunrise Day Camp for Children with Cancer through strategically planned, carefully executed and well promoted walk-a-thons, which generated an overwhelming response from new prospects, lay leaders and seasoned donors.

Oversaw all marketing, web site development and social media outreach associated with Sunrise Day Camp walk-a-thons resulting in a 30 percent increase in new walkers.

Led team for all JCC physical plant restorations, water / mold damage remediation, and coordinated efforts of all service vendors, contractors and licensers after significant damages to facilities from Hurricane Sandy. Served as liaison between insurance adjusters and board; contacted various government agencies to acquire additional funding.

Served as Executive Manager for building and grounds; maintained safety and security of 58,000 square foot central building and additional occupied program satellite sites; approved and oversaw capital projects and repairs.

Served as the primary contact person and grant manager / developer to UJA-Federation of New York’s Office of Budget and Management.

Joint-ventured with OPWDD and JCCA in order to expand young adult transition programs. Implemented newly-instituted Health, Wellness and Aquatics program; oversaw General Manager and $500,000

annual program budget Built and facilitated JCC’s ongoing lay leadership development and, created excellent relationships with, local police

and fire departments; developed and implemented all emergency preparedness protocols. Authored grants and oversaw funding and development of all JCC Adult, Frail Elderly and JASA’s Alzheimer’s and

Dementia programs. Provided ongoing research and development of new funding streams to spearhead program and financial growth.

SOUTH SHORE YM-YWHA, Oceanside, NY 1995 – 2001 A non-profit community center serving a diverse population with social and educational enrichment programs for children and adults. Associate Executive Director Managed daily operations of $3 million Jewish Community Center. Oversaw all Summer Camps, programs, budgets, media promotions and membership services.

Provided leadership to board and staff committee charged with oversight of building a new, full-service 58,000

square foot Jewish Community Center in Oceanside. BEACH YM-YWHA, Long Beach, NY 1990 – 1995 This organization focused on promoting individual growth through participation in meaningful group and community experiences. Assistant Executive Director

Oversaw day to day operations of $2 million dollar agency. Served as primary liaison to other Long Beach community organizations. Created new Youth services model and Parenting programs.

Successfully spearheaded fundraising efforts to grow agency budget from $500,000 to over $2 million annually through development and implementation of new revenue generating programs, cultivation of key donors and solicitation of foundation and NY State program grants.
