Disassembly

l.Place the pumpin a soRJawed ViSe wRh the dHve shat,3,facing downward2 Scribe a line on the pump coveri 2,and pump body,1,for ease in assembly3 Remove the four bolts,9,securing the cover and the remove the coveL

4 Scribe line on the gear shat end with a rnarker pen for assemble the geartooth to same position.

5 Remove the pump body from the vise.Push outward on the drive shaR,3,and remove the plate

seal,5

6 Remove the drive shaft,3,and driven gear,4,from the housing

7 Using a brass hook,or dental pick,remove the plate seal,5,and plate seat,6,from the cover,2.

8.Remove the snap ring,8,and sha■seal,7,from the pump the pump body

NOTE:Do not damage the drive shaft hole and oil seal hole while removing the cil sealロ

1.VVash ali parts in clean solvent and air dry

2.Discard a‖0-rings and seals

3.inspectthe parts for wear or damage,and

if necessary,replace the pump with nevv one

Assembly

l、Lubricate a‖parts during assembly with cieanhydraulic fluid

2t Place the pump bodyin a soRttawed ViSe.3.insta‖the drive shaft,3,and driven gear,4,in the

housing while align the scribed rnark on the shaft end

4 insta‖the plate seal,5

NOTE:Take care the notch direction ofthe plate seal.

6.insta‖the pump cover,2,to the body,1.Align the scribe line rnade during disassembly,and secure

with the four retaining bolts,9,.Torque the boks to 44-49N.m(33-36■ibs.)

7.Remove the pump from the vice.insta‖the shat seal,10,and snap ring,8

01l pump trial running

ARerthe o‖pump is overhauled,it needs a trial run as followsi

l.instali the oil pressure gauge(0‐ 210 bar)on the diVerter valve refer to the “ PRESSURE

AD」 USTMENT"inthe WORK‐ SHOP MANUAL.

2 Start the engine and keep the low idle speed while the controi valve is neutral position about ten

rninutes.

3. Rotates the engine speed to 2000rprn and keep ten minutes atthe same condition

4.Read the o‖ pressure gauge and adiust the Oil pressure by rotates the diveAer valve to increased

each 3 MPa(30 bao and keep the engine speed at 2000rpm while 5 minutes

5 Return the diverter valve to the fu‖opened position aRer the oil pump trial run is finished

lMPORTAN■ Check the pump body and oiltemperature while the trial running.lf the temperature

is too high or noisy stop the engine inlrnediately and inspect the possible causeロ
