district about 10 km from tiruchendram town inTamilnadu

He born in nadar community to sivsubramaniyanadar & vamsundari devi in 1946

He received pre university degree in the Americancollege, Madurai

Electronic engineering from PGS college of

technology in Coimbatore He nicknamed by his friends as magus

He began his career at walchands group cooperengineering in pune in 1967

In 1968 he moved to Delhi where he worked asengineer with DCM company

At those days his dream was to start his owncompany for manufacturing of computers in India

To raise fund initially, he floated a companycalled microcomputers limited to sell scientificcomputers

HCL was founded later in 1976 with an

investment of 1,87,000 with its 5 cofounder They also get fund from utter Pradesh government

as a 26% equity partner

Sol HCL become able to launch India's first

desktop pc in 1976 after three years of IBM

launched it At those days HCL struggling to become at top

but IBM gives a good competition

Afterwards luck by chance it received an

unexpected boon when IBM left India due to the

policies adopted by industrial minister
