Introduction

This booklet describes some of thetemporary and supportedaccommodation in and aroundStockport, which is designed tomeet the needs of a wide range ofpeople.

All the temporary and supportedaccommodation we list offers arange of support including:• access to local communityorganisations;

• emotional support;• help in setting up andmaintaining homes or tenancies;and

• developing social skills.

Our Housing Options Officers canwork through all the optionsavailable to you. This is not acomplete list of services.Information on all Supporting

People funded services can befound in the Supporting Peopledirectory of services at:www.stockport.gov.uk/supportingpeople

The Housing Support Point servicecan also help you access short-term (up to two years) SupportingPeople funded services. You cancontact this service at theHousing Information Centre orby calling 0161 474 3719.

Queen Street is a steep cobbled street leadingoff Manchester Road almost opposite MossleyRailway Station. Hourly trains from ManchesterVictoria and Huddersfield stop at MossleyRailway Station and there are frequent busesfrom Ashton-under-Lyne.
