Kirsta Ruble, the 2012 Juniata County Veterans

Council queen contest winner was awarded a $1,000

“Sissy York” scholarship check by Veterans council

commander John Bell. Kirsta is attending

Pennsylvania College of Technogly studying Dental

Hygiene. A 2013 graduate of Juniata High School,

she plans to acquire a position of Dental Hygienist

when she completes all her courses at PCT.

Trevis Marshall, 89 year

old United States Air Force

veteran was honored at the

recent Juniata County

Veterans Ball. Trevis was

born in Wellsboro

Pennsylvania and moved to

McAlisterville in 2002. He

served as airplane and engine

mechanic in England and

France from 1943 to 1945

receiving 3 battle stars. After

an honorable discharge he

worked on dairy and fruit

farms until moving to

Buffalo New York as a

mechanic for Ford Motor

Company.

He continues to drive the

Amish and spends “lunch” at

the Fox’s Den Senior

Center in McAlisterville.
