Alumni Newsletter Spring 2017

Through the strategic planning process completed in 2015, it was determined that the organization would need to create a modern website that conveys the professionalism and leadership that are integral to Shore Leaderships mission and values with the ability to capture and maintain alumni, donations, sponsorships, and events in an integrated database. The database will help leverage alumni resources to help the organization grow and successfully sustain itself for the future.

A project work scope to outline the website features and functionalities important to meet the objectives outlined in the 2015 strategic plan was presented to six vendors to prepare and present a proposal for the website redesign project. The winning vendor selected to complete the project was Easton Utilities.

Easton Utilities has helped us create a fully integrated website with a back-end database that gives us the ability to export and maintain data in a centralized database. Additional features and functionality also include:• Extensive workflows for the application process which will automatically add the participant to the current year roster and allow the applicant to pay tuition fees online through a secure login feature.• Donations, sponsorships, and

annual alumni dues can now be submitted and paid online through a secure login feature.

• The ability to view events and register for events and pay online through a secure login.

• Social Media integration for Facebook and LinkedIn• E-Newsletter sign up

We encourage all alumni to go to shoreleadership.org and register to keep your contact information current with us. By staying connected, you will be provided with opportunities to connect directly with alumni and be notified of upcoming events. And if you are a currently dues paying member, you will also receive discounts to events.

Message from Board President, Debra Rich

Welcome Class of 2017! This year marks the 20th anniversary of

Shore Leadership and we have much to celebrate. As an active member of the program and board for the last six years,

I would like to highlight a few accomplishments since the

program began in 1997:

• 468 participants have graduated from the program• 32,000 hours of learning • 720 speakers • $100,000 in contributions & sponsorships • $23,000 in tuition assistance

In 2015, the Strategic Plan process ignited the board to raise the bar of our program through various initiatives beginning with:

• Alumni leadership sessions- LEADs events – Two sessions to date (Fall 2016 & Spring 2017)

• Database for alumni to stay connected • New responsive website launched in February 2017• Board orientation • Recruitment events

We are confident that the Class of 2017 will bring the program new opportunities to help us shape the future of the program in the coming year.

I also want to thank our facilitators; Joe Thomas and Carol Graser; the program committee led by Deb Urry; and the countless hours of planning that occurs by our board members, volunteers and speakers. Without all of you, we would not be where we are today.
