What happens if I miss one week? You have two options if you are unable to pick up your CSA share during the course of the season:

1. Have a friend or family member pick it up for you! Nothing says love like a share of fresh, local, organic veggies :)

2. All CSA shares that were not picked-up, will be donated to community members in need. Each CSA pick up site has arranged its own donation partners, making sure that the most vulnerable in our community have access to nourishing and delicious food.

3. If you know you will be away let us know in advance and you can double your order on a week of your choice.

Tzedakah Partnerships Holy Sprouts CSA – Holy Blossom volunteers use donated CSA shares (supplemented with fresh herbs from their own organic garden!) to lovingly prepare and deliver soups and meals for the elderly and unwell in the community, as well as for the hungry guests who visit Holy Blossom through their Out of the Cold program. Kavanah CSA – For the last five years, Shoresh has maintained a close partnership with Ve’Ahavta: The Canadian Jewish Humanitarian and Relief Committee. Each week, Ve’Ahavta volunteers pick up donated CSA shares from the Kavanah Garden (along with all the delicious veggies harvested from the Kavanah Garden that day!). Ve’Ahavta volunteers use the fresh veg to make delicious soups and stews distributed to community members in need through a downtown homeless shelter.

How much does it cost? When joining a CSA, you are committing to a full season of the freshest healthy local produce available! The full season CSA is 27 weeks, and payment can be made in one lump sum, or in installments through postdated cheques. All cheques should be made payable to Highmark Farm.

Share Size Cost/Week Total Cost for the Season Small $20/week $576.00

Regular $30/week $846.00 Large $40/week $1116.00

Please note that the total cost includes a once/season membership of $36.00. This fee allows us to provide the additional services that make our CSAs so special, such as weekly newsletters featuring farm updates, veggie to expect, recipes, and seasonal Jewish teachings; and on-site programming during pickup hours.

Sounds amazing! What are some more reasons for me to join? Taste: You know there is no taste like a fresh-picked, heirloom tomato! Your Health: Not just more delicious…organic foods are more nutritious! The Environment: Good for you and good for the earth! Your Community: Connect with your farmer! Connect with others who share your values! Kids: Kids who grow or choose their own veggies are more likely to LOVE their veggies! Food Donations: Support the most vulnerable in our community with the best of our harvest!
