• Shoutcast is an online-streaming software protocol

• Developed by Nullsoft and sold to AOL in 1999

• The Shoutcast player has been a standard, pre-installed playback feature of

many computers

• Shoutcast generated monthly anonymous statistics for Internet radio listeners

from anyone using their player

• Although it’s estimated to be over 50,000 Internet radio stations in the world,

the Shoutcast stats generally capped the number at 12,000

• Shoutcast measured only four things:

• Station ranking

• Total Tune-Ins

• Total time spent listening (TSL) in hours

• Total Tune-Ins of 5 minutes or more

Page 2: Shoutcast is an online-streaming software protocol Developed by Nullsoft and sold to AOL in 1999 The Shoutcast player has been a standard, pre-installed

• Mid-2013 AOL announced that it was selling Shoutcast

• The statistics would be discontinued

• In 2014, a Belgian Internet Radio company, Radionomy, purchased Shoutcast

• Radionomy intends to sell advertising on any stations using its platform

• Therefore, generating statistics would be self-serving and open to question

• Radionomy has been working for the past year to convert all prior Shoutcast

users to its new protocol “RadioManager”

• Radionomy has offered “free” streaming to any station giving them 6

minutes of radio advertising per hour

• Chinamerica Radio did NOT participate in this offer

• We have remained independent and control our own commercial inventory

• Which was fortunate for us. Monday November 24…Alexandre Saboundjian,

CEO of Radionomy issued the following statement:

“With the launch of new RadioManager you may have encountered technical difficulties and challenges that impacted your radio station. We apologize for the inconvenience and even though the majority of issues have been resolved: we are working diligently to continually improve the performance and experience of the new platform”.

However, before the old Shoutcast stats were discontinued , from October 2011 to July 2013, Chinamerica Radio performed very well:
