An impressive 21,787 (an increase of 12% from OGA 2007) trade visitors from 57 countries visited OGA 2009 over the 3-day event from 10 - 12 June 2009 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Earning its title as the “Region’s No.1 Oil and Gas Show”, OGA 2009 comprised 1,337 participating companies from 49 countries worldwide and set the record of occupying a total space of 17,000sqm (an increase of 14% from OGA 2007) encompassing 6 exhibition halls in KLCC. OGA 2009’s success was under pinned by the participation of big names like Aker Solutions, Cameron, Delcom, ExxonMobil, Olio Resources, SapuraCrest, Scomi, Shell, Siemens, Sime Darby, Technip, UMW Oil & Gas, Tanjung Offshore and Weatherford among others. A total of 10 Country Group Pavilions participated this time around and they were from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Norway, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and United States of America, making OGA 2009 truly an international show. Oil and Gas Asia 2009 was the biggest in its history and the most comprehensive oil and gas show in the Asian region. An impressive 21,787 (an increase of 12% from OGA 2007) trade visitors from 57 countries visited OGA 2009 over the 3-day event from 10 - 12 June 2009 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

Earning its title as the “Region’s No.1 Oil and Gas Show”, OGA 2009 comprised 1,337 participating companies from 49 countries worldwide and set the record of occupying a total space of 17,000sqm (an increase of 14% from OGA 2007) encompassing 6 exhibition halls in KLCC.

OGA 2009’s success was under pinned by the participation of big names like Aker Solutions, Cameron, Delcom, ExxonMobil, Olio Resources, SapuraCrest, Scomi, Shell, Siemens, Sime Darby, Technip, UMW Oil & Gas, Tanjung Offshore and Weatherford among others.

A total of 10 Country Group Pavilions participated this time around and they were from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Norway, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and United States of America, making OGA 2009 truly an international show.

OGA 2009 has proven once again its impeccable credentials with many exhibitors and visitors going home satisfied with the results. In fact, almost 90% of the OGA 2009 exhibitors have already requested to rebook space for OGA 2011!

VIPs AT OGAOGA 2009 was honoured by the presence of YAB Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed, Advisor to PETRONAS on the second day of the exhibition. YAB Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed who officially graced OGA 2009 by way of a simple “ribbon-cutting” ceremony outside Hall 1 entrance, spent a considerable amount of time visiting and meeting with exhibitors.

OGA 2009 was also visited by YB Dato’ Mukhriz bin Tun Dr Mahathir, Deputy Minister of International Trade & Industry on the second day of the show.

AUSTRALIASupported by The Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) and the Oil and Gas Australia journal, the Australian pavilion at OGA 2009 was the first ever. The buoyant Australian oil and gas industry with the objective of penetrating the lucrative market in Asia brought in companies such as GASCO, Inflatable Packers and Jacks Winches.

AUSTRIAAustrian Trade Kuala Lumpur which is part of the Foreign Trade Organisation of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber maintains more than 100 offices worldwide by providing assistance in promoting trade, investment and economic cooperation between Malaysia and Austria. Participating companies included Erne Fittings GmbH, Geosat Technology Ltd. and LMF Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co KG to OGA.

BeLgIUmThe Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX) is the Wallonia Region of Belgium’s government agency in charge of foreign trade and investment promotion. The agency has a worldwide network of 105 Economic and Trade Companies. This year at OGA they represented: Balteau, Belsim, The Belgian Oil & Gas Group, Bocad, De Raedt and Hamon.

DenmARk TofKo Business Development A/S is a Danish consultancy company specialised

in helping small companies grow. TofKo is also the company behind Offshore Denmark, that arranged the participation of the Danish Pavilion at the main shows in the oil and gas industry. The exhibitors at OGA 2009 at the Danish Pavilion were Danfoss A/S Oil & Gas, CALSEP A/S, RO-Clean DESMI A/S, DESMI A/S, Densit A/S and Danish Marine & Offshore Group.

geRmAnyAt OGA 2009, the German Group returned to showcase a variety of unique products and specialised services to assist the region’s professionals. They provided the visitors with a thorough update on the current technology being produced by one of the world’s most technically adept nations. Companies under the German Pavilion were GMT, KME Germany AG & Co. KG, MECON GmbH and Voith Turbo.

ITALyThe Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (I.C.E., Istituto nazionale per il Commercio

Estero) is the Italian government agency entrusted with the promotion of trade, business opportunities and industrial co-operation between Italian and foreign companies. At OGA 2009, the Italian Pavilion presented the best in Italian engineering and solutions for today’s Oil and Gas industry. Participating companies were A.E.C. Technology Srl, Advanced Technology Valve Spa, Artes Ingegneria Spa, Biffi Italia Srl, Cortem Spa, Di&Gi Snc, Fantinelli Srl, Marelli Motori Spa, Torresin Titanio Metalli Spa, Vimec Srl, Feam Srl, Friulana Flange Srl, Nuova Fima Spa and Nuova Maip/Pieralisi.

noRwAy Innovation Norway Malaysia functions as the Commercial Section of The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Malaysia and promotes private and socio-economically profitable industrial development throughout Norway. The companies who participated under the Norwegian Pavilion brought in by Innovation Norway wereAtlas Hall Sdn Bhd, DnV Energy, Framo, Frank Mohn, Jotun Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Master Marine ASA, Petrolink AS Roxar Flow Measurement Sdn Bhd, Scandpower Petroleum Technology Sdn Bhd and Vector International (Malaysian agent: LH Oil & Gas Sdn Bhd).

The neTheRLAnDSIRO, the Dutch Suppliers Association organised the Dutch Pavilion at OGA 2009 by order of the EVD, an agency of the Ministry of Economics Affairs of the Netherlands.

Participants of the Dutch Pavilion were Bluestream Group, Fischcon B.V., Hertel Defence & Offshore, Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, NMI Certin B.V., Tejin Aramid B.V., Hudig Forwarding, Van Heck B.V., Bayards Aluminium Contructies B.V., Frames Process Systems, Mokveld and Jumbo Offshore VOF.

UkThe Energy Industries Council once again managed the UK pavilion at OGA 09 with over twenty UK companies under its wing. Due to the strong interest in this region, the EIC also had a trade mission to coincide with OGA where missioners had the opportunity to attend organised group meetings with local key players as well as in-market briefing meetings and networking receptions and of course time to visit OGA. Companies under the UK Pavilion were Advanced Sensors, Anson Ltd, Balltec Limited, Batt Cables Plc, Belzona Polymerics Limited, Bridon International Ltd, Broady Flow Control Ltd, Brown Mcfarlane Ltd, Centek Ltd, Ce-Test & Measurement (S) Pte Ltd, Crowcon Detection Instruments Ltd,

Dk Jones Ltd, Energy Industries Council, Exheat Ltd, Hi-Force Ltd, Infield Systems Ltd, Oakley Steel Ltd, Opito, Rotech Subsea Ltd, Scopus Engineering Ltd, Scottish Development International, Shipham Valves, Steel Plates and Section, Ultra Electronics SML Technologies and Zeta-PDM Ltd.

USAIMEX Management organised the USA Pavilion at OGA 2009, representing fourteen U.S. companies and highlighting the most cutting-edge solutions to the challenges facing the global oil and gas community. The U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Embassy in Malaysia also hosted a business information office (BIO) booth within the USA Pavilion, providing onsite market counselling services for new entrants to the Malaysian oil and gas market. Companies under the USA Pavilion included ABS, CD Adapco, Grainger Inc, Hilti, Henry Technologies, ODS-Petrodata, Omni Flow Computers, Pepcon Systems, Petro-skills, Richards Industries, Strongwell, Superior Energy Services, Tradequip International and United Labs.

The Subsea Asia conference 2009 was held alongside the OGA exhibition with speakers from Perry Slingsby, First Subsea, Framo Engineering, NCS Survey, Deep Ocean Subsea Control Innovation and Flexlife. This highly focused programme organised by Subsea UK took place on 11 June 2009 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The conference was well attended by some 114 delegates.
