Get ready for glitter, sweat and tears! Showcase an excerpt of your show or try out new ideas in our late night cabaret night, find new audiences and
test out ideas. Pollyanna is an intimate late-night testbed cabaret night at Paradise Palms bar off Bristo Square in the centre of Edinburgh. Like our last
year, we shall be filling our shows each night with different performers, and we'd love to hear from you and your show. We blend performance art and
drag with live music, comedy, theatre, dance and an array of experimental live acts and fresh, messy talent. We love experimentation, so the wierd and
unusual, or queer or alternative is very welcome. The night is hosted by the Pollyfilla, an alt-drag queer creature. We are situated right in the centre of
things so its a great location to promote your show, we have a good audience every night. You can bring along flyers to give to the audience and our
host Pollyfilla will ensure the audience know all the details they need to catch your full Fringe show. All performers will get a free drink and use of our
backstage green room. Not only should it be a great way of promoting your show and playing with ideas but its always a fun night for all involved! Sadly
we cannot pay performers. The venue is not accesible. The bar is level access ground floor with a single ramped entrance step but the toilets are down
a flight of stairs.
We are open to hearing from all types of performers and shows. We are particularly interested things that are unusual, experimental, risk-taking but we
showcase a wide range. it is a late night, wild messay cabaret vibe so mostly we showcase acts more suited to this vibe, but we do also host 'more
gentle' acts also. Drop us an email with a brief description of who you are, what your show is and what you'd like to showcase. We like to see video
links, photos and a description are important. We can discuss whether you would perform on a single night or on a number. Paradise Palms has a
approx 2m x 4m stage with curtains, lights, full sound system and smoke machine. If you have any question or want more info then drop us a line or
look a our website www.anightwithpollyanna.com or our facebook www.facebook.com/pollyannalive and see Pollyfilla's facebook page at

Description and Special requirements
Application Method
The Wild Cabaret variety show is looking for guest performers to fill 7-10 minute slots (we can also
accommodate slightly shorter or longer acts). We are particularly interested in circus, magic and dance acts,
but as long as you feel it can be, even if loosely, tied in with the theme, it can be anything from mentalism
to burlesque, to singing, comedy, original genre and other acts of interest. We have two fantastic
atmospheric venues with high ceilings - both very centrally situated. It is an exellent opportunity for
showcasing an exerpt from your show or trying out new ideas. You can bring along flyers for the audience
and our hostess Shantisha will make sure you have a chance to promote your show.
Please send us a short description along with any videos or images you have of your act and the dates and times you will be available to perform. Applications with videos (or at
least audio recordings in case of music) will be given preference. The show in the Liquid Rooms (late night) is suitable for all acts apart from music (unless very high energy:
comedy songs, drums etc. are ok). Bootleggers Bar is excellent for music, dance, circus and other high energy physical acts, but not for spoken word/comedy/magic (these go well
at the Liquid Rooms).

Description and Special requirementsThe Glitter & Doom Salon is seeking expressions of interest from performers at this year's Edinburgh Fringe.
We are looking for unique talents from the fields of cabaret, burlesque, music, comedy, circus and
performance art, who are able to perform 5-10 min sequences that fit into the themes of ‘Glitter’ and
‘Doom’ – however you may wish to interpret this is up to you! Bonus points if you can channel both.
Fee structure is a profit share
arrangement. A major part of the Salon's purpose is to provide promo opportunities for artists, with opport
unities to flyer the crowd and talk about their show on the night. The host will also be promoting
guest artists' shows onstage and via social media.
We are also seeking writers/poets, visual artists and roving performers to participate in creating an
immersive environment, so if you’re more the shy creative type who likes to hide behind a glass of absinthe
while you scribble down overheard conversations onto a cocktail napkin, or sketch artists and audiences
from the corner booth while wearing a beret, do get in touch xx
