20.5 Except as provided in Section Conditions 20.2 and 20.7, if any horse/pony has been entered for or has taken part in any competition and is found by the Society to have had administered to it any prohibited substance, it shall be deemed that an offence has been committed and the exhibitor and horse/pony shall be liable to punishment.

20.6 Except as provided in Section Conditions 20.2 and 20.7 any person who at any time administers or causes to be administered to any horse/pony any prohibited substance, shall be deemed to have committed an offence and shall be liable to punishment.

20.7 Full use of therapeutic measures for the maintenance and improvement of the health and well-being of a horse/pony is permitted, provided that such measures are applied with the permission of the Society's veterinary surgeons and the Ringmaster and carried out by a registered Veterinarian. If in the opinion of one of the Society's veterinary surgeon and the Ringmaster a Prohibited Substance is administered which is likely to affect the performance of a horse/pony unfairly during the remainder of the competition, or mask the presence of any other prohibited substance, the horse/pony must be withdrawn.

SHOWJUMPING 13

20.8 If a horse/pony is entered in Horses Breed, Horses in Action and Show Jumping Sections under different exhibitors and a positive swab leads to a disciplinary hearing, the relationship with the other Section will be taken into consideration.

20.9 Medication Control Levy: A medication control levy of $1.50 has been included in the Entry Fee for each class.

20.10 The procedures outlined above are directed at giving exhibitors every opportunity to compete while considering the welfare of the horse/pony and the need for fair competition.

21. GRAND PARADES:

21.1 All horses/ponies (excluding Carriage Driving exhibits) must participate in the Grand Parade in accordance with the printed program unless an exemption is authorised by the Ringmaster. Exhibitors must have competent handlers/riders in attendance for this purpose.

21.4 Standard of Dress for Riders/Handlers: When participating in the Grand Parade, riders/handlers must adhere to the standard of dress appropriate to their Section or the handler may wear a clean dustcoat. 21.5 Exemptions: All exhibitors are reminded that it is part of their obligation as exhibitors at the Perth Royal Show to parade their animals in the Grand Parade. The Grand Parade is a significant daily event and very popular with the public. It is therefore very important to the Royal Agricultural Society.

21.6 Any exhibitor wishing to apply for an exemption must do so on the appropriate form printed in the back of this Schedule by 2 September 2005.

NO EXEMPTIONS will be given on the day without a Veterinary Certificate.

21.7 Grand Parade Pass: Exhibitors will be required to hand in a Grand Parade Pass as they enter the Main Arena for each Grand Parade and must wear their competition number.

21.8 If any horse/pony is not exhibited in the Grand Parade without an approved exemption, the exhibitor will be fined $50.00 and will forfeit any prize money.

21.9 The fine must be paid before the horse/pony or exhibitor can participate in another event.

22. PRIZE MONEY, RIBBONS & TROPHIES:

22.1 Prize Money as stated in the Prize Schedule does not include GST. The prize money which the Society pays to successful exhibitors (“you”) depends on the information that you provide to the Society.

If you confirm that you are GST registered and provide your Australian Business Number (ABN), the Society will pay the appropriate prize money plus 10% GST. The Society will provide to you a Recipient Created Tax Invoice (RCTI) within 28 days of the day you were successful at your event, detailing the GST which you will need to submit to the Australian Tax Office (ATO). If any adjustments need to be made, the Society will issue an adjustment note to you within 28 days of the adjustment. Upon entry into the competition and completion and signing of the application form, this form will become a RCTI agreement as required under A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999. Furthermore, you acknowledge your agreement to the following:

• The Society will issue you a tax invoice in respect of the successful exhibit;

• You will not issue a tax invoice to the Society in respect to prize money received;

• You will notify the Society if you cease to be registered for GST; and The Society will notify you if it ceases to satisfy any of the requirements of the determinations.

If you provide your ABN but are not registered for GST, the Society will pay the prize money as detailed in the Prize Schedule without reference to GST. If you are a business exhibitor and do not provide your ABN to the Society, you will have 48.5% tax deducted from your prize money under the ATO PAYG provisions.

14 SHOWJUMPING

23.2 A protest must be made in writing, giving reasons for the protest and signed and submitted to the Chief Executive Officer not more than one hour after the completion of the judging of the event or competition.

23.3 Such protest must be accompanied by a deposit of $50.00 which may be forfeited to the Society if in the opinion of the Chief Executive Officer the protest is unfounded, frivolous or vexatious.

23.4 If an exhibit is awarded a prize and is subsequently disqualified the prize will not automatically be awarded to the next placegetter. The final decision will be at the discretion of the Judge.

22.5 Any prize money awarded for an event, which is the subject of protest, shall be retained by the Society until the protest has been resolved.

This is your Invitation to become a Member of the

Royal Agricultural Society of WA (Inc)

The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (Inc) (RASWA) is a not-for-profit apolitical organisation based in Perth, Western Australia. With the support of its members, RASWA's role is to promote the significance of rural Western Australia and the state's primary industries.

Working to help 'bridge the gap' between city and country WA, the Society's activities are focused on showcasing the many and varied achievements of rural Western Australia. Founded in 1831, RASWA has successfully encouraged and assisted the development of the agricultural industry sector in Western Australia, for the most part through our premier event, the Perth Royal Show.

In 2004, the RASWA celebrated 100 years at Claremont Showgrounds. In the process we were recognised by the State Government as part of Western Australia’s 175th Foundation Anniversary with the honour of being nominated as a “Western Australian Icon”. Community participation in last year’s Show was overwhelming with over 2000 volunteers contributing their time and effort, and a record attendance of 483,761 show goers visiting over the eight days.

Presenting a range of prestigious awards, the Countryman/RASWA Rural Achiever Award, the Rural Ambassador Award and the Year 11 Achiever Award, the RASWA demonstrates its ongoing commitment to industry development.

To ensure our Society continues to grow and prosper for the benefit of all members, we invite you to accept the

challenge to join the Royal Agricultural Society of WA and participate in our extensive array of activities to

educate, celebrate and promote the achievements of our agricultural sector.

“Our mission is to serve and enrich the people of Western Australia by showcasing the resources and endeavours of its people”.
