Salient features of our

products

Our products are intended to be used where the service temperatures are in the region of 600 - 1050 deg Celsius.

We can cast products with single piece weight ranging from 50 grams to 225 Kg.

These products are designed and manufactured to deliver sustained performance at these temperatures and withstand severe operating conditions of high heat, heating atmosphere induced corrosion, frictional wear and tear at high temperature, thermal shocks due to sudden cooling, corrosion due to cooling media etc

Prospective applications other than our current range include Cement industry, Refineries and Power plants to name a few.

Advantages of using cast

products

Initial Cost: Moderate initial costs for proving out

application

Strength: Inherently stronger at elevated temperatures

than wrought alloys

Shape: Highly complicated designs can be cast

relatively easily as compared to other modes of

manufacturing

Composition: Since casting is the primary process in

any steel production, composition can be designed

and controlled precisely as required

A note on processes and

infrastructure

Our factory is located at Badlapur near Mumbai

These are reasonably well-equipped with medium-frequency induction furnaces, mechanization with respect to molding and shot-blasting.

Relevant testing is done at each stage of production; We conduct tests to verify the sand and mould properties, melt composition and internal structure of final products

Our Office located at Goregaon, Mumbai serves the other business functions of sales, accounts etc.

A note on processes and

infrastructure

The mould testing and temperature measurement is done in-house

Chemical test for raw material/finished casting, and radiography/ultrasonic testing for internal flaw detection is out-sourced to reputed, government approved organizations

Basic machining facilities are available in-house while any bulk/specialized machining is out-sourced

Our Mumbai office also incorporates a design department which is equipped with modern CAD CAM systems to design and analyze parts and patterns

Summary of factors

deciding steel selection

A general classification for these steels would be

“Materials for elevated temperature applications”

These are generally austenitic steels which fulfill

certain specified values/requirements for the following

chief criteria:

Ease of fabrication/casting/welding properites

Impact resistance

Erosion resistance

Resistance to cavitation (applicable in certain cases with

fluid flow)

Economy of production

Repeatable verifiable behavior

Summary of factors for

steel selection

Creep resistance

Fatigue resistance

Major groups of alloys

manufactured by us

The types of steel manufactured by us can be divided

into 3 general categories:

Chromium base steels – suitable for low temperature

applications but tolerant of highly corrosive environments

Iron base steels – suitable for moderate to high

temperatures with slightly corrosive atmospheres

Nickel base steels – these are special superalloys designed

for superior performance in extreme conditions. These are

generally designed and made for specific applications and

require greater control in production than other steels

Welded muffle assembly for controlled atmospheres Welded muffle assemblies (about 8.5 m long weight approx 2 tons) are required for critical operation of sintering in products made from metal powders. The muffle allows a controlled environment which is essential for treating metal powders. Integral cast baffles are provided on the individual pieces to improve circulation and create uniform conditions. One end is fixed and other free for expansion. High pressure, leak-resistant, corrosive atmosphere, high temperature – severe application

Cast links, assembly of links and driving drum assembly for variety of handling applications

Cast link conveyer belts are used for a wide variety of applications ranging from light forgings which require uniform through heating and individual quenching to precision bearings which need to be delicately handled in a controlled atmosphere.

In these applications, repeated procurement of fixtures proves very costly and a one-time large expense can be justified. Moreover, atmosphere control necessitates such an investment.

Assemblies for gear heat treatment

Shown here are fixture assemblies for heat treatment of various types of gears in different types of furnaces – continuous and batch.

The various parts such as assembly base, rods, pipe, grids, pillars bushes, locking arrangement are all cast alloy parts

Assembly for charging and carrying material through furnace – for handling of forged parts in large volumes

The above photo is of assembly for charging and carrying material into high temperature hardening furnace, through quenching and again for tempering/ stress relief operation.

It is generally used for handling of bulk volumes of forgings castings etc which are not in machined condition and therefore don’t need precision handling.

Like all our castings these are designed for minimum weight , provision for uniform heating and cooling and optimum number of cycles.
