    Shri Hanuman Kavacham

Now, meditate upon the son of Pavana, who glows like the morning sun and who trampled uponthe pride of the demons; whose fame is dear to Lord Indra and whose persona is graceful as it

glows; who is accompanied by all the vanaras including the king of Vanaras - Sugriva; who likes

the truth being well revealed; whose eyes have a red luster and who is adorned with a yellowfabric.

Lord Hanuman's body is strong like a vajra (the thunderbolt of Indra). He is a skillful warrior and

his appearance is enriched by his yellow hair. He is adorned with golden ear-rings and is thevalourous one, who is known to have leapt across the sea.

One should meditate upon Lord Hanuman, who holds a club, a noose and a kamandu (a kind of

water container) in His left hand and has His right hand risen.

One should remember the lotus-like face of the Vanara, Lord Hanuman - whose being bears a

lustre like that of the Sphatika jewel and glows like gold; who has two arm. His hands are folded, portraying his devotion to Lord Rama and His face is adorned with earrings.

May Lord Hanuman protect us in the East. May the son of Pavana rescue us in the South. May

the killer of Akshaya Kumara and the one who leapt across the sea rescue us in the West.

May the son of Kesari, who leapt high in the sky, rescue us in the North. May the devotee of

Lord Vishnu protect us from under. May the son of Pavana protect us in space.

May the destroyer of Mother Sita's sorrows rescue us in the intermediate directions. May the

Lord, who burnt the city of Lanka always rescue us from all calamities.

May the son of the God of air, who assisted Sugriva, rescue our head. May Lord Mahaviraprotect that portion of our forehead that lies between the eyebrows.

May our eyes be protected by the Lord who could capture even the shadow and He is the king ofVanaras.

May our cheeks and ears be protected by the server and devotee of Shri Rama.

May the son of Anjani protect our nose. May the king of Vanaras protect our face. May the

enemy of demons protect our throat. May Lord Hanuman, who is worshipped even by the Gods,

    protect our shoulders.

May our hands and arms be protected by the compassionate Lord Hanuman - the one whose legs

are His greatest weapons. May our nails be protected by the God who uses His nails as His

weapons. May our belly be protected by the king of Vanaras.

May the Lord, who carried the ring of Lord Ramachandra to Mother Sita, protect our chest. May

the front of our body be protected by the God, who adopts His arms as His weapons. May the

destroyer of Lanka city always protect the back side of our body.

May the messenger of Lord Rama protect our navel. May the son of the God of air protect our

waist. May our private organs be protected by the king of Vanaras. May our ankles be protected

    by the mighty One.

May the protector of the mountains, who glows like the sun, protect our feet. May our toes

always be protected by the one who has boundless strength.

May the great warrior protect all of our organs. May our skin and hair be protected by the

    spirited One.

The wise scholar, who recites this armour of Lord Hanuman is the best amongst all men and

woman and obtains all comforts and complete liberation.

The one who recites it thrice or even once a day for three months - destroys all his enemieseffortlessly and receives eternal glory.

If one recites the armour of Lord Hanuman for seven times, while standing in the water atmidnight, it removes diseases as fierce as tuberculosis, hysteria, leprosy and all types of fevers.

The one who recites it, standing beneath the holy fig tree on a Sunday, becomes fearless and

    achieves victory in every battle.

He who, merely holds the sacred text of this hymn in his hands, gets all his desires fulfilled. By

adopting, practising and writing this hymn repetitively a devotee is freed from the manipulativenature of plants.

The one, who recites this armour of Lord Hanuman becomes fearless - in jail, while embarking

upon a journey, at the time of a battle and at a time of a calamity.
