Vishnu Karting Championship
Vishnu Student Affairs has introduced the event for providing a
platform to all meritorious engineering students. A total of 31
teams had attended the Dynamic Round of event with their hand
made Go-karts for the event from different parts of India. It was
4 Days Dynamic event. Finally a total of 27 Go-karts passed the
required technical Inspection, Brake test, Rain Test and Drop
test. The qualified vehicles went for the successive rounds of
Weight test, Business plan presentation, Autocross , Women
Endurance and Common Endurance Run. The event comprised
of a number of awards based on the performance of teams of
INR 2.5 Lakhs. The event had a good crowd of spectators and
also attracted the press and media coverage.

The Department of
Mechanical Engineering of
Shri Vishnu Engineering
College for Women highly
encourages the Practical
projects for skill
development of students. A
group of 25 Students
formed a Purely women
team and competed with

Hyundai Motors India
Limited (HMIL) is the
second largest automobile
manufacturer in India
having its Headquarter at
Chennai. The company
accepted our request to visit
HIML which was
scheduled on 10th March,
2017 (Friday). A group of
20 students along with two
faculty members left for
Chennai on 09th March
2017.
Hyundai Industrial Visit – Chennai Plant
The students were first taken to the assembly unit where they saw the robotic spot welding,
seam welding, followed by wire system installation, brake lining installation, seat beat
installation, fuel tank installation and lights installation. The overall process was a movable
conveyer system where employees were completing their works in a very disciplined manner.
The plant has a number of robots, Robotic arms, AGVs, and automated systems which created a
lot of interest and knowledge in the minds of students. The industrial visit helped the students to
see the Robotic welding technology, assembly line, time management and many more things in
a real time experience.
Terrain Vehicle. A total of 153 teams competed on a common ground of Pitampur-Indore
(Bhopal).
Team Ziba Racers was the only Purely women team from South India in the event. The event
was of 4 days having different Rounds like Technical Inspection, Brake Test, Acceleration
Test, Weight Test, Sled pull, Maneuverability. The event had static rounds like Go-Green
award, Business and Sales Presentation and Design Evaluation.
Team Ziba Racers proved its mettle by Qualifying for all the rounds and completing 4
successful Laps in Final Endurance.

Medha Milan 2017
As a regular practice, Shri Vishnu Engineering
College for Women oraganized a National Technical
Women Symposium 'Medha Milan' on 7th & 8th
March 2017. The chief guest for the inaugural was
Sri.G.V.Rao, Chief Operating Officer K.C.P Sugars
and Industries Corporation Ltd. Our Principal
Dr.G.Srinivasa Rao garu, Vice-Principal Shri P.
Srinivasa Raju garu and Convener, Dr.P V V Rama
Rao were the dignitaries on the dais. Symposium different events like Hardware Expo, Quiz, Auto Cad and Water Rocket were
conducted. There is a huge response from various participants from other states from India.
The valedictory function ended up by distributing certificates to the winners and the received a
fantastic feedback from the students.
There are different types of thermal power plants in India based on types of fuel used to
generate the steam such as coal, gas, diesel and others. About 75% of electricity consumed in
India is generated by thermal power plants. This visit helped students to correlate between the
different equipment and parameters used in actual power generation technique with the one
given in the books. This was really a better exposure to what was taught in the class room.
" Before you start some work, always ask yourself three
questions - Why am I doing it, What the results might be
and Will I be successful. Only when you think deeply and
find satisfactory answers to these questions, go ahead.“ -
Chanakya
"Once you start a working on something, don't be afraid of
failure and don't abandon it. People who work sincerely
are the happiest.“ –

Industrial Trip to Thermal Power Station
The main reason to visit this power plant
was to understand and get complete
knowledge about practical overview of
energy generation plant. A Thermal
power station is a power plant in which
heat energy is converted into electrical
power. Water is heated turned into steam
and spins a steam turbine which drives a
generator. After it passes through the
turbine, the steam is condensed and
recycled to where it is heated, This is
known as a Rankin Cycle.
