Berberis gladwynensis ‘William Penn’

William Penn Barberry – A handsome shrub with dark green shiny leaves and bright yellow spring blooms. Its thorny branches make it a good candidate as a barrier and a good choice for heavy deer and rabbit browsing areas. It can be

easily pruned into a hedge. Foliage takes on a reddish plum cast in fall. Prefers full to partial sun in moderately moist, well-drained soil. Evergreen. Reaches 6’ tall x 7’ wide. Hardy in zones 7-9.
