Si Ling Secondary School National Police Cadet Corps Mr Oh Keng Ann OC, Si Ling Secondary School NPCC Unit 2016 has been an exciting year for the Si Ling Secondary School NPCC Unit. At the start of the year, we took part in Chingay 2016 as the performers for the 2 nd time, and we’ve invited NCC and SJB along too! We took part in various parades at school level, community level, HQ level and even at national level, with SGT Winnie Ng representing us in the National Day Parade 2016 at the Sports Hub. SGT Ke Jiayao represented us for National Camp in August and she will be representing us again in the Overseas Educational Visit to Hong Kong in November, whereby only 26 cadets from the whole of Singapore are selected. CPL Azlee represented us too, in the Harmony Camp held in September. We started CSI training within the school and joined the Combined Uniformed Group camp, sharing with the other UGs about our CSI training. We also went for air pistol training and climbed to the Tree-top Walk at MacRitchie Reservoir. In addition, we took part in Campcraft competition and .22 shooting competition. We continued our collaboration with the Woodlands West NPC and went on patrols and visits to the Marsiling neighbourhood. We also had the priviledge of watching the preview of <C.L.I.F. 4> at Mediacorp Theatre. We hosted the Area 1 Games Day for the 5 th consecutive year. This is our last time hosting the event and we achieved outstanding performance. In the 6 games that we participated in, we clinched 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze trophies for the unit. In addition, we also hosted the AC- OC meeting for the 2 nd time. Though our strength shrank this year due to the lack of Secondary One intake, our programmes have become even more extensive and we have given our cadets more exposure and leadership opportunities. We will strive for the Merit Award for the Jurong Police Division Challenge Shield – a new initiative this year. We shall continue to maintain our Silver Award for Unit Overall Proficiency Award despite the challenges. It has been a pleasure watching many of you grow into confident and knowledgeable cadet leaders. Maintain the friendship you forged, apply the knowledge you learned and keep striving to improve yourself. I wish you an enriching and fruitful journey in NPCC ahead, in your new unit – Marsiling Secondary School (士林中学). From our OC… 23.09.2016

Chingay 2016Our VIA

I am proud to be chosen to be one of the fourteen representatives fromNPCC to take part in Chingay 2016 as there were limited places availablefor us.

I was appointed by my NPCC DyOC to take charge of the NPCC cadetsand ensure their safety throughout the practices and actualperformances. I learnt the importance of accountability though thisassigned position. In addition, I get to make new friends from differentschools and exchanged experiences that broadened my perspectives.

Although I was exhausted, I learned to balance between my academicsand the rehearsals. It was a good learning experience for me.

Combined Uniformed Group Passing Out Parade

23rd April 2016

One big family

This is our last year as Si Ling National Police Cadet Corps. We are thankful to witnessthe last Passing Out Parade of our seniors, endured through the tough training at ATCand STC, explored and discovered about Crime Scene Investigations, encouraged oneanother to share with the residents about crime prevention, raised our own school flagat the Campcraft Competition. Although this year we do not have any Secondary Oneintake, our team stood strong and united and braved through the storms.

SLSS NPCC, we will always remember you!
