is a partnership between the U.S. Small
Business Administration, UC Merced and
premier local host institutions in Central
California. As part of a nationally
accredited program of more than 1,100
centers, the UCM-SBDC is the most
extensive provider in Central California for
business assistance. Since 2003, the SBDC
program has helped create more than
$184 million in !nancing (loans & equity)
for small business clients.
The mission of the network provides
entrepreneurs and small businesses with
high quality education, consulting,
support for innovation, access to
information and tools necessary to build
successful sustainable businesses.
ECONOMIC IMPACT DATAEach year the UC Merced SBDC Regional Network participates in a national Economic Impact Study of clients who receive !ve or more hours of consulting. “The SBDC program in the Central California Region makes a positive contribution to the economy” states Dr. James J. Chrisman, researcher, University of Mississippi.
