CHRONO SAFE (SKG**)

1. General characteristics

General• To make your windows extra secure against burglary, you should use the high security system Chrono Safe.

• The totally clampable Chrono Safe turn system is available with visible hinges and with concealed hinges.

• All parts are made of high quality non-corroding materials.

Profile dimensions• The Chrono Safe hardware is available to suit a frame groove of 14/18 mm or a frame groove of 10/14 mm.

High security parts• The set contains the following high security parts:

- 2 stainless steel mushroom head bolts, pre-riveted to the tilt bolts which are connected to the Chrono Safe components and rods in the vent section.

- 2 brass security keeps which are fixed on the frame section with clamping plates in stainless steel and self-drilling screws.

- A zinc alloy anti-lift piece and protection piece which are fixed on the frame section with a clamping plate in stainless steel and self-drilling screws.

- A special zinc alloy connection piece at the handle position or at the lockcase for operation with square spindle.

- 2 or 3 anti-lift pins in aluminium at the hinge side. - Rods in synthetic material with increased tensile strength with special connections.

Connection rods in synthetic material• The system consists of 11 rods with different lengths, made of a solid, non-absorbing, fibre-

reinforced synthetic material, which offers the following advantages: - quick assembly by the special toothed connections. - no rattling. - no more time-consuming rod operations. - inaccuracies while sawing and punching are eliminated. - adjustment range of each rod is 50 mm. - inaccuracies while manufacturing the window can be overcome by the connection rods, which allow a maximum error margin of 8 mm in height (Fh) and 4 mm in width (Fb).

- The rods in synthetic material incorporate locking points as standard which serve as an additional centre locking point for wider and higher windows. Additional locking points on plates are no longer necessary.

Miscellaneous• The high security set should always be operated by a cylinder locking handle, available in different

variations (see chapter C11.15).

Kwaliteitscentrum Gevelelementen) in the Netherlands. The window complied with the requirements of burglary prevention class 2 in accordance with the NEN 5096 dated June 2007 and class 2 in accordance with the EN standards 1627 to 1630 dated 2011, for tests and assessment of high security windows. Two are awarded to the set in accordance with the stars indication with relation to the KOMO certificate of SKG (certificate in accordance with SKG - NEN 5089: September 2009).

• For Chrono Safe hardware with hook-in keeps, the keeps can be mounted after assembling the frame. Keep is already attached to clamping plate with M5 screws.

• Size range with lockcase: - Vent width: 400-1400 mm (non-adjustable hinges).

- Vent width: 400-1700 mm (adjustable hinges).

- Vent height: 685-2400 mm.

Chrono Invision Pro Safe concealed hinges• In specific cases, the concealed hinges Invision Pro can also be used. The condition for this is that

the combination of the aluminium sill profile, the stop profile and the specific corner pieces for the central seal must be suitable for this. This information must be obtained from the profile system supplier.

CHRONO SAFE (SKG**)

11. General information and glass tables• The turn systems Chrono Safe can be used within the Fh/Fb sizes and weight limitations indicated on the

charts. The ratio of the dimensions Fb/Fh must not exceed the value of 1.5 for visible hinges and Chrono Invision Pro hinges. For Chrono Invision Pro > 130 kg, the ratio of the dimensions Fb/Fh must not exceed the value of 1. For Chrono Invision Go hinges, the ratio of the dimensions Fb/Fh must not exceed the value of 1.2.

• The handle height should not be less than 1/3 and not be more than 2/3 of the vent height. Technical advise should be sought when the sizes of your windows are not shown in the chart.

• With Chrono visible hinges, the window stay is optional and is only used as limitation of the opening angle, never as stop.

• In schools and in other places where safety is important, we advise a window stay 35140-901, -902, -903 and a handle with cylinder.

• A window stay is required in public buildings: - Chrono Invision Pro Safe: 35140-902 or -903 - Chrono Invision Go Safe: 32117-901 (groove 14/18) or 32137-901 (groove 10/14)

• A window stay is required for balcony doors or window doors: - Chrono Invision Pro Safe: 35140-902 or -903 - Chrono Invision Go Safe: 35140-902

• A window stay is possible from the following vent width: - Chrono Safe visible hinges: Fb > 450 mm - Chrono Invision Pro Safe: Fb > 670 mm (only window stay 35140-902 and -903) - Chrono Invision Go Safe: Fb > 520 mm

• The systems Chrono Safe are made of non-corroding materials, the set should not be installed in corrosive atmospheres.

• Sobinco cannot be held responsible for the malfunctioning of the Chrono Safe system if any non-Sobinco parts are used.

• All parts must be assembled according to the instructions as described in previous pages.

• Surface treatment of vent and frame must take place before assembly of the set to avoid affecting the operation of the gear. If this is not the case, this may lead to the malfunctioning of the hardware and the warranty will dispose.

• Glazing must be in accordance with national standards.

• The window and gear should be kept clean and lubricated in accordance with our maintenance instructions (copy available on request).
