TUMETIC and TUNORMA:Tailor-Made Technology

Csepel Transformer Factory was founded in 1960 as astate owned company in the location of the large indus-trial estate in southern Budapest situated on the island ofthe Danube river. The core business of the factory was toproduce oil immersed MV/LV distribution transformers, inthe early years for the domestic elctricity networks, andvery soon for an ever increasing number of export mar-kets.

The production of a relatively new brand of transformers,the cast-resin insulated transformers was started in 1978based on a licence acquired from the German producer,Trafo Union. In the course of the privatisation processSiemens AG acquired the shares of Csepel TransformerFactory in 1996 and it became an important branch ofSiemens AG‘s transformer business.

Following the takeover process the Company was able toobtain its first Quality Certification according to ISO 9001within a year, in 1997. The development of new businessfields e.g. coil winding for Traction Transformers togeth-er with Siemens Nürnberg was completed in 1998. Thename of the company was changed to "SiemensTransformers Kft.“. in 1999. The same year witnessed animportant event, that is the takeover of production andresponsibility of the cast resin transformers with thebrand name “Geafol” transformers >400 kVA from theGerman production center.

In 2001 other important event happened : the productionand responsibility of oil transformers < 250 kVA wastaken over from Portugese production center. Since thenthe Company has grown steadily in production capabili-ties, shortened its lead times and supplies distributiontransformers, oil immersed and cast-resin alike, to anever expanding number of export markets all over theGlobe.

TUMETIC

Hermetically sealed distribution transformers com-pletely filled with oil as cooling and insulatingmedium, for power ratings from 250 to 1600 kVAand operating voltages up to a maximum of Um =36 kV

TUNORMA

Oil-filled distribution transformers with conservatorfor power ratings from 50 to 2500 kVA and operat-ing voltages up to a maximum of Um = 36 kV.

Cable elbow connectorson the HV side, openbushings on the LV side.

■ Rated power: 50-2500 kVA

■ Rated frequency: 50 Hz

■ HV rating: up to 36 kV

■ Taps on HV side: +-2.5% or +- 2 x 2.5%

■ LV rating: 400 - 720 V (special designs for up to 12 kV can be built)

■ Connection: HV winding: delta, LV winding: star (up to 100 kVA: zigzag)

■ Impedance voltage 4% (only up to HV rating 24 kV and < 630 kVA) or 6% at rated current: (with rated power > 630 kVA or with HV rating > 24 kV)

■ Cooling: ONAN

■ Protection class: IP00

■ Final coating: RAL 7033 (other colours are available)

Truckwith flat-rim wheels whichcan be set for forwardor sideways movement.

Conservator(on TUNORMA model) withoil-level indicator and fillernozzles in the form of airvents.

Anti-corrosion: Multi-layer paint finish, standardcolour cement-grey (RAL7033).Special colours or zinccoating available on request.
