Issue date: 23.11.2012 - V23 Dubai Metro Signage Design Manual A standard layout design has been developed for all poster-based information, using international ‘A-sizes’ for paper. The standard layout provides a header and base band, leaving a clear space in the middle. The proportions of the header band are always the same depending on the original size of paper. The base band has a minimum size that must always be used but no effective maximum size. The header band is used for titles and station names. The base band has a minimum size to allow for the inclusion of the RTA logo endorsement but above this, the band can be extended and used for additional information such as keys, text, etc. Posters are recommended for presenting printed passenger information, including system maps, location maps, exit signs and operational notices. They should also be used for temporary signs, as detailed in Section 8.9.
