TRAFFICABLE ROOF PARKING DECK, DRAGONMART EXPANSION, UAE

PROJECT DESCRIPTIONInaugurated on December 7th, 2004, the 1.2 kilometre-long DragonMart is the largest trading centre for Chinese products outside of mainland China.

The new expansion, DragonMart2, will add 175,000 m2 of hypermarket, cinemas, entertainment, restaurants, retail units, hotel and car parks.

PROJECT REQUIREMENTSThe client required a 60,000 m2 trafficable roof parking deck, comprising of ramps, driveways and parking areas. The specified system needed to be UV stable, waterproof and abrasion resistant.

The system also had to be LEED compliant with ASTM D 957 and the Solar Reflective Index (SRI) of 80, a requirement typically required for roofing systems.

SIKA SOLUTION The proposed system by Sika is waterproof, crack bridging, abrasion and chemically resistant to vehicular traffic and automotive fluids.

Sika was also able to produce local test reports to confirm compliance to specification, as well as SRI test reports to ensure LEED compliance.
