The Silk Road

• The Silk Road wasn’t even a road, not paved not even a route.

• The Silk Road was a name of any given route led from China to Rome.

• It was a 4000mi hike

• The Silk Road began in 2nd century B.C.

• The Chinese used the Silk Road to trade with the Romans.

• The Chinese traded spices, ivory, and silk for silver and gold.

All the black dots are the routes where the Chinese and other civilizations stopped and traded their goods for other goods they wanted.

On the map it doesn’t show that the Chinese did stop in Jordan.

• According to the Chinese Legend silk was discovered in 2460 B.C

• The silk came from silk worms

• The silk worms were actually caterpillars

• The Chinese used the caterpillars cocoons

• They used the caterpillars eggs
