Silver Bullet Reading (taken from Claire Gadsby)

For use with:

- A page from a text book- An article- A source- A poem- A section from a book- Any reading!- All year groups and abilities

1. Give each student the text. Put students in a circle

2. Give each student a line (or a section). Ask them to scan for a work they think looks interesting or

important

3. Go round the circle with each student saying their word

4. Go round again but the group repeats each word

5. Go round the circle and the student says their word with an action

6. Go round again with the group repeating each one

7. Go round again with the student saying the word, and the group doing the action

8. In small groups or pairs, back at the tables, pull together all of the words
