VISION

Silver Shores Elementary School – “The GREATEST Corner in the UNIVERSE!!”

MISSION STATEMENT

Silver Shores Elementary School is committed to providing a safe, positively

charged, collaborative, fully-inclusive school, supported by the new Florida

Standards, to successfully prepare our students to be college or career ready.

RECAP 2013 – 2014 HIGHLIGHTS

• A-rated school since Silver Shores opened its doors in 2002 to 2013

• Mrs. Star Rosario, 2013-2014 Broward County Teacher of the Year Finalist

• 2nd Annual Enrichment Cluster Extravaganza

• State Representative Manny Diaz and Superintendent Runcie provided Silver Shores with an A+ School of Excellence Flag, which proudly flies above our school on the flagpole

• Human Peace Sign to commemorate Choose Peace Week (the entire school created a life-size Peace Sign on our playing fields that was captured by 3 major television networks via helicopter and aired on local news)

RECAP 2013 – 2014 HIGHLIGHTS

• 4th Grade partnership with Cornell University’s Department of Ornithology (STEM Initiative)

• Fully-functional Recycling Program (created by a 3rd grade student - STEM Initiative)

• Variety of produce and herbs from our Silver Shores Organic Garden (STEM Initiative)

• Whole-School participation in the Hour of Code (STEM Initiative), which taught computer coding to all students. Ari Ozder, NBC6 Education News Correspondent, highlighted Silver Shores, specifically Mrs. Bagiotti’s 4th Grade Class’ participation, on the 6:00pm news (which aired June 2nd, 2014).
