Tyler Gage is a rebel from the wrong side of Baltimores tracks. Nora is a privileged ballet dancer attending Baltimores ultra-elite Maryland School of the Arts. When trouble with the law lands Tyler with a community service gig at Maryland School of the Arts, he arrives as an angry outsider, until his skills as a gifted street dancer draw Noras attention. Now, as sparks fly between them, both on and off stage, Tyler realizes he has just one performance to prove that he can step up to a life far larger than he ever imagined.

This film is a similar genre to our product and has also inspired us with many of the rehearsal scenes, because the camera shots uses the mise en scene i.e. the mirrors to cause greater effect.

Billy Elliot

Against the background of an increasingly bitter miners' strike that his elder brother and father are involved in, young Billy Elliot finds he prefers joining in the girls' ballet class at the local hall to the boxing he's there for. The ballet mistress soon realises he has real potential, but no-one, least of all his family, is likely to go along with a lad doing dancing.

This product is similar to our short film because of the trouble Billy has with his family to do what he was wants to do which is dance. Our main character Faye faces the same dilemma as her mum wants her to get a proper job.
