In March 1993 I opened the bicycle-trailer shop “Zwei plus zwei” in a courtyard garage in Cologne. As the young father of a three-year-old daughter, I had developed a fascination for bicycle trailers. With the “Zwei plus zwei” mail order catalogue, I set out to bring the world of bike trailers closer to interested cyclists across Germany.

If someone would have told me that, 25 years later, my daughter would be working in the company with me, that my small, one-man operation would grow into a family-run business with 40 employees and that we would evolve from the retailer and wholesaler “Zwei plus zwei” to the manufacturer “Croozer GmbH”, I probably would not have believed them.

Although some aspects of our business – like our passion and enthusiasm for offering amazing, fascinating and multifunctional products – are no different than they were a quarter of a century ago, a few things are new: like our pride in having become one of the world’s leading brand manufacturers of bicycle trailers. To celebrate our anniversary year, we are particularly excited to be presenting the best Croozer trailers ever built.

Nowadays, it’s hard to imagine a bike path or city street without bicycle trailers. They have become an integral part of many people’s everyday lives and, together with bicycles, represent a modern, forward-looking mode of transport. However, when the foundations of today’s Croozer GmbH were laid in 1993, the bicycle trailer as we know it today was nowhere to be seen. As a dealer, distributor and manufacturer, we are delighted to have been one of the pioneers of this sector and proud of the integral role we have played in the burgeoning popularity of the bicycle trailer over the past 25 years.

Our primary interest from the very beginning has been offering trailers that best meet our customers’ needs, with our high standards for quality, safety and comfort. The new Croozer dog trailers are our pride and joy. They go by the name of Dog L, XL and XXL and were specially developed for the transport of large and heavy dogs. Their design offers plenty of space for tall dogs, with a very low and wide door for easy entry.

This means that, on your errands or family outings, you can easily take along an older or ailing dog – or even puppies whose physical activity must be restricted in order to avoid problems later in life.

The front panel, side windows and rear door are made of a heavy-duty mesh material. During the ride, the front window can be opened all the way to the middle bar. Simply fold the mesh flap over the bar so that it hangs outside the trailer, where it can’t be chewed on. When helping your dog get used to the trailer, the front window can be opened all the way.

A clear protective cover can be mounted to the front of the trailer to keep moisture out of the passenger compartment.

The blind on the rear door can be closed to help prevent nervous or excitable dogs from focusing too much attention on the people, dogs or other animals you pass.

SUPPORT BLOCK FOR TRAINING

The support block can be used when you remove the wheels to place your trailer on the floor as an indoor dog crate or tunnel. It prevents the trailer from tipping forward when your dog puts his weight on the slanted front section. Simply cut or tear along the perforations to separate the template from the rest of the cardboard. Then fold it into a block and place it under the stroller-wheel socket.
