Thank you for your interest in the Sims International Film Festival. Your support means the world to us and to our participants. In this kit you will find all of the graphic assets that you might need as well as the details and backstory.

As a supporter or sponsor we might say, we have no demands of you other than to provide accurate information, this is the reason we decided to create this kit. Our motivation to seek sponsors is quite simple; we want more machinima makers and machinima lovers to know about us as a way to help everyone who participates to benefit. Machinima makers are a small community, relatively speaking, and many are disheartened when they don’t get the attention that they hoped for. We see this festival as a way for more Sims machinima makers to get noticed and get the recognition and praise that they deserve.

Our philosophy is such that we believe that artistic talents of all levels deserve to be celebrated. Sims is a creative escape for so many and we believe that even those with less skill or experience should be celebrated just as enthusiastically as those at a much higher level. We accept all submissions for our showcase as long as they fit into the theme of the film festival. The only submissions we don’t accept are Let’s Play, build, tutorial or walkthrough type vids as our focus in on machinima as entertainment.

So once again, on behalf of all participants, thank you for your help in spreading the word and in celebrating this talented group of Sims artists.

Simatography was started by Minraed Arzhel soon after the release of Sims3 when she discovered that this platform could be used for incredible life-like photography and movie making. While she didn’t know how to make machinima yet, she wanted to learn but could not find a community that was dedicated to this, so she started one herself.

SIFF soon followed – The Sims International Film Festival was inspired by her love of real-life film festivals, in particular TIFF, the Toronto International Film Festival. She saw this as a way to showcase the exciting machinima that she was discovering. There was no way of knowing that this would grow as it has. The support of so many people in the Sims community is what made this possible, and here we are in our 10th season. Incredible.

Here are a few festival facts that might be of interest:

we do not make any money for what we do, though we are exploring options now so that we may raise some funds to allow for giveaways and prizes

we publish a weekly-ish SIFF Buzz tabloid to keep people up to date on festival happenings we have many other things going on like Red Carpet photo challenges, Battle of the Bands

and so much more so that everyone can participate, not just movie makers SIFF runs twice a year, with films premiering March 15th then Sept. 15th We have viewer’s choice polls so fans get to have their say we DO accept and encourage Sims 2 machinima makers to join we do not offer real prizes, but we do have many virtual prizes such as graphics and

badges as well as CC award items for your game

we have many tutorials, tips and links to help people learn and improve we are now open to Sims 2 and will open to Sims 4 players you do not have to register as a member to view the pages we have places to showcase photos, stories and machinima on the site
