Fly Me To The Moonwas written by Bart Howard in 1954, and was

originally named In Other Words. When Sinatra performs it, he communicates the

lyrics as a light-hearted love song. He creates a swing feeling when he sings by

dragging out and stressing consonants such as at 0:20 he drags out onnnn, and then

annunciates other words sharply. He also adds short, dramatic pauses such as at

0:53 wish for *pause* and adore. He adds that light-hearted, carefree feeling bydoing such things as walking around and dancing, like at 1:34, during the

performance. Overall, I liked the performance and the swing feeling of the song. The

pauses and alternation between dragging out words and cutting them off sharply

    made the song interesting.

Angel Eyeswas written in 1946 by Matt Dennis and Earl Brent, and

originally featured in the 1953 movieJenniferbefore being recorded by Frank

    Sinatra in 1958.

I Get A Kick Out Of Youwas written by the famous Cole Porter, and initially

introduced in the Broadway showAnything Goes.

I Wont Dancewas composed by Jerome Kern, with lyrics by Oscar

Hammerstein II and Otto Harbach for the 1934 show Three Sistersbefore beingrecorded by Sinatra in 1957.

Come Rain Or Come Shinewas written in 1946 by Harold Arlen and Johnny

Mercer for the musical St. Louis Woman.

Ive Got You Under My Skinis another song written by Cole Porter in 1936.

It was first featured in the musical Born To Dance, where it was nominated for the

    Academy Award For Best Song.

I Wont Dance by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers

In this version, Astaire and Rogers play on the humor of the song. Ginger

Rogers is a polish woman who want Astaire to dance with her, but he doesnt want

to at all. They are constantly bantering back and forth and teasing each other. At the

end, Astaire performs a lengthy tap dance number.

I Wont Dance by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong

In this version, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong make the song much

jazzier. Although it is still light-hearted and fun, it is not as exaggerated as theversion by Astaire and Rogers. In this version, the tempo is speeded up and made

much jazzier. Also, in the version with Astaire and Rogers, they are talking and

singing to each other, however, in this version it is more just two people singing a

song together, not at each other.

I Wont Dance by Jane Monheit and Michael Buble

This version of the song encompasses a little bit of the other two. It has the

humor and carefree feeling, but it also has a jazz feeling to it. However, it is slightly

more serious and romantic than the other two. They make into a love song they are

singing to each other rather than a teasing song they are singing to each other.

Of the three, I prefer Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers version the best. I think

that the song is humorous and teasing, and they do the best job of expressing this.

Through their dance number and bantering, they best represent the lyrics of the

    song.
