SUNREEF
B amar renews its collaboration with Sunreef, world leader shipyard in the production of luxury
catamarans. The catamaran is a type of boat destined to meet more and more the interest of modern
boat owners who prefer large spaces onboard, comfort, large autonomy and low consumption.
Sunreef shipyard, founded in Danzig in Poland in 2003, manufactures sailing and motor multihulls. To date
they have built a hundred boats that sail the seas around the world. For some years now, Bamar has been
among their favorite suppliers for furling systems, having created the forsail furlers for 102 ‘Ipharra, 82 DD
Houbara, and for the 74’ series.
Thanks to this fruitful collaboration, the shipyard has again granted its trust to Bamar by closing an
agreement for the supply of electric and hydraulic foresail furling units on the new 60 ‘and 80’ series: EJF
series electric furling motorizatons or GFI hydraulic units for the genoa, and the motorized CODE PE / PI pad
eye for Gennaker or Code 0 type sails.
SUNREEFBamar supplies the series:
60A#01, #04
74#02, #03, #04, #05, #06, #12
80A#01, #04
88 DD
W e start with the manual furling system C2 which
changes its look. Totally black anodized in a limited
series. Mechanical and constructive characteristics
of the entire manual line have remained unchanged, as
it is appreciated for its simplicity, robustness and almost
total absence of maintenance. The C2 Black Edition model
certainly has a more modern and captivating look.
At present we start with a limited series to test the market
and check the approval of the public. If, as we believe, it will
be appreciated by the public, then we cannot exclude that
soon the entire line of GFM will be made in this new color.
GFM C2 BLACK EDITION
T he “family” of Bamar
testimonials keeps on growing.
We signed a new partnership
with the young sailor from Trieste,
Francesca Komatar, in the next
MINI 650 season. Soon Francesca’s
improved MINI 6.50 will be back in
the water and it will be equipped with
RLG EVO 08 for Gennakers and furling
Code 0s. Constant and continuous is
the collaboration with the tireless “solo
sailor” Andrea Mura who is planning
an intense 2018 season with “Vento di
Sardegna”, the OPEN 50 in constant
technical evolution. Bamar is always on
Andrea’s side as he renovates some of
his equipment this year by adding a new
foresail furling unit, always combined
with his current EVO furlers.
On July 1, 2018 the Golden Globe around
the world Race for vintage boats will
be starting from Les Sables D’Olonne -
France. On the starting line there should
have been the French / Italian Patrick
Phelipon. In contrast to the excessively
restrictive rules imposed on the last
minute by the organization and the
French Sailing Federation, he definitively
decided not to participate. However,
he will leave for his 1 and ½ Tour of
the World with the boat he is currently
equipping. A personal venture, but
certainly with a non-indifferent media
return. Bamar is with him onboard with
the tried and tested manual furling gears
of the GFM series and one EVO furler
specifically chosen by Patrick for the
strength and durability that distinguish
them. Essential characteristics when you
are about to face a very long non-stop
navigation without assistance as the
one that Patrick is about to start. Dario
Noseda too, on board his expressly
refurbished STAR won his bet. Bamar
was onboard with him with the EVO
08 furlers. He crossed the Atlantic and
through many strains, he achieved his
endeavor despite a crash landing. Dario
completed a no mean feat which put the
EVO 08 furlers to the test.
Ready for his “race for life”, Michele
Zambelli was on the starting line
of OSTAR 2017 with his “Tenace”
ILLUMIA12 9.50 class. The race turned
out to be very hard in the North Atlantic
waters and during what has been
defined by everyone as “the perfect
storm” Michele was forced to call
for help and leave his boat with an
irremediable keel failure. Thanks to the
Canadian Coast Guard Michele was
recovered and brought to safety. The
boat was equipped with Bamar EVO 10
furlers for the foresails. Now Michele is
looking for new resources in order to
get back to sea as soon as possible and
Bamar is still by his side.
TESTIMONIAL
B amar trademark is in continuous growth internationally and this is also possible thanks to our sales network. In the
last few months only, we have appointed two new dealers for the Bamar Range in Europe. We therefore welcome
these new dealers in the wide Bamar family.
Germany:KOHLHOFF GMBH in Altenholz
Spain:C&C RIGGING in San Pol de Mar – Barcellona
NEW DEALERS
T he partnership between Bamar and Cantiere del Pardo was
confirmed for 2018 as well. Bamar will sponsor again this
year the event dedicated to all Grand Soleil owners. The
fantastic location of Cala Galera will be the stage for the event
once again and will host sailing yachts from all over Italy.
The number of participants is expected to be higher than the
last edition, reaching the limits of the “technical” capacity of the
marina in Cala Galera. Everything will be expertly coordinated
by the ground organization of the shipyard and by the local
Sailing Club Argentario. Among the sponsors, together with other
prestigious brands, this year we will also count RiVelami with
whom Bamar has a mutually profitable partnership.
A fter an intense 2017 season, we are planning the new 2018 boat show season, where we will be present either
directly or through our dealers with a booth on which you can touch by hand the new equipment. Fall and Winter
boat shows are a fundamental meeting point that allow us meet customers and exchange opinions with them and
receive constructive criticism for a constant improvement. This is the philosophy of our Made in Italy brand.

T he range of electric and hydraulic furling
motorizations for removable sails is completed
with the BWS system for bowsprits. This unit
originates from the experience with PE-PI motorization
(electric/hydraulic pad eye), intended for an on deck
installation. Equivalent functional characteristics (in the
different sizes available) with different body structure. Made
entirely of polished 316 stainless steel, the body is made to be
fitted on the bowsprit tube end with an inclination of the rotating
part of 72 ° to adapt to the inclination of the stay.
Therefore this unit satisfies the needs of those “performance boats”
that are equipped with long bowsprits and do not want to lose the
possibility of furling their downwind sails; Should these be CODE 0s
or,free-flying gennakers, thanks to the addition of the special RollGen stay.
N ew prestigious acquisition. The Finnish shipyard
NAUTOR’S SWAN has chosen Bamar GFSI 16
to furl the genoa on its new 78 ‘. This hydraulic
hydraulic foresail furling motorization has been expressly
customized and equipped with a hydraulic tensioning cylinder
and carbon profiles. Hence, maximum performance and light
weight for this new “creature” of the famous Finnish shipyard.
Bamar is very proud for having thus contributed to the completion of
one of the trend boats during the coming 2018 season.
BWS
GFSI ON A SWANT he largely tested EJF range is enriched with
an extra bonus. The new EJF2 C furling unit
with integrated hydraulic tensioning cylinder
is now available. The part linked to the electric or
hydraulic drive is unchanged; the machine body
can now be equipped with a hydraulic cylinder for
real-time adjustment through a hydraulic pump
that controls the integrated cylinder with a 150 mm
stroke.
Already several boats that in the 2018 season
will descend into the water with this new engine:
among these: Grand Soleil 80 ‘and Maxy Dolphin
75’.
EJF WITHCYLINDER SAILOR OF THE YEAR
D ario Noseda is the Tag Heuer 2018 Sailor of the Year.
Unanimously, the jury of the Italian Sailing magazine Giornale
della Vela had no doubts since Dario carried out his 3,500
miles Atlantic crossing from the Canaries to Saint Lucia on a tiny
modified Star, a boat born for sailing between the buoys. Crazy
enterprise carried out by a “lakeman” at his first experience in the
ocean, with a final shipwreck and arrival on foot.

O ne of the main targets of the company is
to ensure complete and constant customer
satisfaction, to be reached by continuous
Quality improvement. In this context, the need to ensure
that all products that are being manufactured are in
compliance with the required specifications, led Bamar to the
development of a quality management system that has been
certified in accordance with the standards ISO 9001 / UNI EN ISO
9001 : 2008 (SGS).
Materials, design and production processes together contribute
to maintain a high level of Bamar product quality: in the design
phase, we proceed with the creation of a FEA model; then, once the
production phase with CNC machines is completed, we first inspect the
correspondence of the item made with the original design. Finally, after the
final product has been assembled, we carry out tests on the test bench: we check product compliance, no-load operation
and with maximum working load. The entire production cycle, from design to manufacturing and assembly, to final bench
tests, is carried out in Italy in our headquarters in Forli.
I n July 2010, Bamar premises moved to the industrial
district of Villa Selva Forlì - Via F.lli Lumière, 45.
The new area of 18.000 square metres also includes the
mechanical workshop, in order to guarantee a greater synergy
between workshop and warehouse staff, and speed up production
process, machining, assembly, test and product delivery. Bamar
workshop boasts a production plant made by vanguard CNC
machining centres that allow for high flexibility and production quality.
Our company may thus grant a 360° service, starting from the mere
client’s requirement and ending up with the finished product.
