Surviving Life’s Storms
Women’s Conference
Mount Zion Baptist Church February 17 – 18, 2012
Keynote Speaker
Vicki Courtney
“…in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Romans 8:37, NIV
Vicki Courtney is an author and speaker whose ministry touches over 150,000 people a year through events, books, and online resources. Her numerous books include Five Conversations You Must Have with Your Son (2011) and Five Conversations You Must Have with Your Daughter(2008). She has appeared on CNN, Fox News, and CNN Headline News as a youth culture commentator and is a nationally known speaker, yet she is a “one of us” kind of speaker. Vicki has faced personal storms in which she has demonstrated that her faith and teaching are authentic. We are blessed to have Vicki as the keynote speaker at our women’s conference. You will be touched by her openness, joyfulness, and integrity as a fellow storm survivor. To learn more about Vicki Courtney, visit her blog at http://vickicourtney.com/. Vicki will address our theme on Friday night with her message “Surviving Life’s Storms.” Vicki shares, “Storms are inevitable. Chances are, you just came through one, are in the midst of one right now, or will face one in the near future. Whether it’s the unexpected death of a loved one, the loss of a job, a prodigal child, an unhappy marriage, a difficult relationship, or anything else that catches you off guard, God is by your side. But do we really believe that?” Vicki will use one of her favorite scripture passages to give women key survival tips for weathering the storms of life. On Saturday, Vicki will share in one breakout session and again during our time together at lunch.
