Subj: SMP Monthly Meeting Minutes
1. A SMP meeting was held 05 March at 53 Area SMP Recreation Center. Sgt
Hosch called the meeting to order at 0900. List of those in attendance is
provided on the sign in sheet (attachment 1).
2. Mrs. Danielle West - SMP Coordinator – Last month’s minutes can be
found at www.mccscp.com under the recreation / SMP tab.

43 Area Potholes are in the process of being filled in, but there is
no plan for pavement. Self-Help has asphalt that can be utilized, but
it must be done correctly. The issue was brought up at a command
meeting.
Budget cuts will restrict what repairs need to be prioritized. Take
care of what we have so longevity can be optimized.
Stay positive, and help get the word out.
4. Sgt Hosch - opened the floor for old or new issues
Chow Halls have consistent issues with food, ranging from not being
cooked thoroughly to produce not being washed.
Water streaming from taps is milky white even after allowing to run -
May be due to aeration of water, 43 Area.
External boiler outside of Pulgas barracks, inquiries as to if this is
a temporary or permanent fix.
9th Communications BN- Vehicle storage in parking lots is crowding
parking areas – Document and report to PMO. 15 cars were towed from
the lot last week.
Bigger parking closer to barracks requested for Pulgas Area, or
policing which barracks can park in certain lots, as Marines are
needing to walk to get to their barracks – This is an area Command
issue; Marines should be parking at their own barracks.
Pulgas area dumpsters overfilled – Police your Marines, as waste
management will not pick up if waste is not disposed of properly.
Barracks managers can request additional pick-ups as needed.
5. Mr. Michael Rumbaua, Bachelor Housing Manager –
Barracks occupancy is around 76%, with Horno the highest. Occupancy
rates are tracked by BEQ manager’s once new Marines check in and are
put into the database. If managers are not putting new occupants into
the database, the occupancy rate will not be accurate.
Bachelor housing can move overflow bachelors to other areas as
needed—currently space at 22 Area for anyone requesting to be moved.
BAH can be given out to Sergeants once occupancy reaches 95% and to
Corporals at 98%.
Pregnant Marines can submit packages at 16 weeks, but should not move
out until package has been approved; BAH will not be backdated.
