PREPAREFill up your tub orplastic container withwater. Gather all youritems for theexperiments. Make alist of all the items, andmake two columns nextto your list. One for“Predictions”, and onefor “Results”.

PREDICTGo through your itemlist and mark in the“Prediction” columnwhether you think theitem will sink or float.

EXPERIMENTTest each item one at atime by placing it in thewater. Does is sink orfloat? Record yourobservation in the“Results” column. Howmany did you predictcorrectly? Which itemsfooled you?
