CREATE A MATCHING GIFT OR CHALLENGEPlease lead by example and encourage your network to join you in making a

gift. You can match gifts dollar for dollar up to a fixed amount and even

structure your challenge to be based on donor participation.

HOW: Look right below the video on the left side of the campaign page.

UPLOAD A PERSONAL PLEACreate a short video in which you explain why you’re supporting this campaign

and why others should do the same and upload directly to GiveCampus.

SIX WAYS TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE SSU BEAR CLUB CHALLENGEAUGUST 27th - SEPTEMBER 7th 2018Help make the Bear Club a success by doing any or all of the below!

HOW TO CREATE A MATCHING GIFT OR CHALLENGEInspire your friends and classmates by creating a matching gift or challenge during the SSU Bear Club Challenge on August 27 - September 7.

To create a match or challenge, go to the Bear Club Challenge (http://ssubears.com/BearClubChallenge) and click on the appropriate button on the left side of the screen, below the video. Step by step instructions below.

Matches and challenges are similar, the key difference is that challenges are milestone-based (e.g. if 100 people make a donation, I will give $250) and matches are made on a per donor basis (e.g. I will match up to $500 on a dollar-for-dollar basis for the next $500 that is donated). We suggest keeping your matches and challenges simple and attainable

After you’ve created your challenge, encourage your friends and classmates to join

Enter the amount of your match (e.g. up to $150).

Select your match type. Clicking 1:1 will match dollar for dollar donations up to the match amount entered in the first step. If you click ‘other’, you can choose to donate a custom amount for every dollar donated or a ‘per donor’ match to donate a custom amount for every donor who makes a gift.

Select when the match should end (it will automatically end at the close of the Bear Club Challenge).

Most matches are not restricted, but you may choose to restrict your match to apply to donors from a specific class or to a list of friends. There is a drop down box if you choose to challenge a particular class, simply click on the applicable year. If there are specific classmates whose donations you would like to match, enter their email addresses in the box provided.

After you’ve created your match, encourage your friends and classmates to join you in supporting the Bear Club Challenge.

FOUR SIMPLE STEPS TO BECOME A SSU BEAR CLUB CHALLENGE ADVOCATE The best way for you to make an impact on the Bear Club Challenge, is to encourage your friends and classmates to join you in making a gift. On GiveCampus, spreading the word is easy, fun, and rewarding because you know precisely how many clicks, gifts, and dollars your outreach is driving.

To become a Bear Club Challenge advocate and take advantage of these tools, follow four simple steps:

Go to http://ssubears.com/BearClubChallenge and click ‘Sign up” on the top right of the page.

Create an account by linking to your Facebook account or your email. Note: Facebook is helpful because you don’t have to remember another password and we will never post to Facebook without your permission.

Now that you’re logged in, go to http://ssubears.com/BearClubChallenge and you will find a link that is now customized for you. If you want to share over Facebook or Twitter, click those buttons and your support will automatically be tracked on the ‘advocates’ tab just below the video.

In addition to sharing, you will also be recognized as an advocate for doing things to make sharing more fun like creating a matching gift or challenge and creating a personal plea video.
